The left is so down on Free Speech, left-leaning "civil liberties" groups won't even defend one of their own?
Free Speech is a right wing conspiracy!
Nobody has the right to anybody’s time or services under any circumstances. If I choose to offer my resources and services for compensation, I can choose to not offer my services for any reason at all. And forcing me to do so is exactly that….Force.

Why does “intent to benefit” matter? There is nothing wrong with a journalist publishing facts or opinion with intent to benefit.

The ACLU used to defend Free Speech. IMHO, their finest moment was in the late 1970s, when they defended the right of some lowlife Nazi wannabees to march in Skokie, Illinois, then home to many Holocaust survivors. Assigning a Jewish lawyer to head up the case was a nice touch.
Now they are virulently anti-Free Speech, unless the speech is far left wing.
