Perhaps the more important part of this is "To Whom" the Classified document was sent and who classified it and when and whether it remains classified.

So maybe where it was found is the least important bit of information.

I’m not defending Pence, but I’m wondering if these were planted to minimize Biden’s mishandling.

This was my thought: Pence was disclosing this to help out Biden (the "everybody does it argument"), not necessarily to help Trump.
