A Texas man released on a $2 bail for allegedly choking and kidnapping his former girlfriend was rearrested within days for continuing to threaten her...
Aubrey Taylor was arrested after allegedly holding his former girlfriend hostage, choking and terrorizing her on Dec. 27 in Harris County, Texas. He was offered a $2 bond — $1 for each count — during his court date on Jan. 13 and was rearrested on Jan. 18 for violating court orders and allegedly threatening the victim..
“Repeat offender accused of beating woman gets $1 bond. Horrific,” said Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbot on Twitter. “Texans must feel safe in their communities. This session, we will eliminate the easy bail policies that allow dangerous criminals back onto our streets.”
...
After Taylor was rearrested, his bond was set at $45,000 for the kidnapping and $15,000 for the assault charge, KHOU 11 reported. This is not the first time Taylor has been charged with a violent crime; prior to his current charges, Taylor had eight prior felony convictions, ..
“If I’m outraged, I can’t imagine what the victim in this case must be going through considering all she did,” said Andy Kahan of Crime Stoppers to Fox News. ...

The arrest comes after Texas passed Senate Bill 6 in 2021, which prohibits violent offenders from being released on their own recognizance, according to the Texas Tribune. Judge Josh Hill, responsible for setting the bail at $2 for Taylor, denies that his decision to do so was in retaliation to the new law.
Anybody who defends themselves against the guy will get life in prison.
Bail must of been too high.
Release him now on $1 bail.

I thought Texas was strict, comparatively speaking. I guess I was wrong, or it depends on the jurisdiction.

SPJNK.
Houston is a toilet that became a crappier toilet after the 9th Ward Katrina trash moved in.
Yes, it does depend on the jurisdiction. Unfortunately, there is a Soros-backed DA in Harris County and some scumbag leftist judges. They are very lenient on crime, appearing to encourage it.
The Harris County judge paid over $600,000 to attorneys who handle fraud and similar cases, before she went to South America according to a Houston radio talk show host. Apparently she is expecting to be indicted.
Oh, and the law firm contributed to her election campaign.
Guess they advised her to go someplace without an extradition agreement. Her name is Lina Hidalgo

Well, on the brighter side, the “justice” system is $2 to the good.
Maybe they can buy a clue.
Houston is a democrat sewer
Austin isn’t far behind
She needs to dial .357.
simple arithmetic- the criminals get arrested, pay $2- if they kidnap someone- get paid $2,000,000 possibly- The reward to risk ratio is enormous-
What the hell is going on in TX? I thought they were one of the last hopes for humanity.
These Soros DAs are soft on crime but with logic behind their decisions. When a society become ungovernable the public always turns to a strongman politician to solve the problem. The Marxist intend to be that strongman.
This is right out of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”
