This is not something new. During the Cold War, we had approx 6 months for the initial battle against the Soviet Union. The concept was that in a conventional war, that the MIC would be able to re-supply for a long campaign. Today, that would not happen. We are not prepared for a long campaign, and we have been shipping weapons and ordinance to Europe. Not a good time to defend Taiwan

I am no more in favor of the US military defending Taiwan than Ukraine. Which is to say, not at all.
But more practically, since the Neocons run the show, how far off offshore would our surface ships have to stay to be out of range of Chinese anti-ship missiles? Are we sure enough of our ships’ defenses that we would risk the 5,000 Americans aboard a single carrier?

All this talk about Germany wanting US to send Abrams tanks to Ukraine, before they send Leopards? And Demented Joe not sending them? I wouldn't be surprised if we are down to the bone, with absolutely none to spare.
But notice how the Yahoos at Yahoo blame the defense companies for not producing weapons that Biden has not authorized.
