And these 35,000 Kornets have as yet failed to destroy the Ukrainian army. Also the 20,000 ex-Soviet tanks are nowhere to be seen. And the RuAF likewise.
The Russians sent their initial force in without any advance guards or flankers. They expected to intimidate the Ukrainians. The Ukrainians were not intimidated and both local militia, and regular troops took advantage to whittle down the invaders.
The Russians learned the lesson, but it was written in blood and cost them a lot of tanks.
“And these 35,000 Kornets have as yet failed to destroy the Ukrainian army.”
Ukraine has not launched an armored assault. They are infantry centric...soon to have a division of mechanized infantry.
The Kornets are of little use against anything besides armored vehicles. And if one of those gets within 5,000yards, kaboom.
The Kornet can take out any tank in the world. Which is no big deal anymore, as there are at least a half dozen cheap ATGMs that can too.
My point is that whatever number of Leopards Ukraine gets, it’s highly unlikely to make a difference considering the scale of hostilities.
And in other news Poland to get brand new high tech Abram’s tanks from the US.
This isn’t going to end well...
It’s still costing them tanks, an average of about 5 per day.
Ukraine has long integrated tanks in its brigades - the Ukrainian army has long been a brigade level organization, without permanent higher level units. This is an old criticism, how valid it is I don’t know.
In any case, even Airborne and Naval brigades had a battalion of tanks, and some Mech brigades and the Tank brigades had two. There’s been plenty of occasion for Russians to snipe at Ukrainian armored vehicles.
Ukraine has indeed engaged in armored attacks, notably and very publicly in the attack on the northern part of the Kherson bridgehead on October 2, which was entirely by mechanised forces, and in the Kharkiv offensive. The main exploiting tactic there was for “heavy” tank led units to fix points of resistance while “light” motorised units flanked and bypassed them, establishing roadblocks.
The ones they had at the beginning of the war according to the Armed forces of Ukraine Wiki page that is very carefully curated by the Uke government and US Government.
6500.... all gone.
But I’m sure another 50 or 100 will help. /s
Breakdown in wiki of Ukrainian equipment, with sources.

By type, numbers by type, acquisitions, etc.
No 6500 tanks. Tanks in storage and requiring overhaul are included.
This is your source -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_Forces_of_Ukraine
“At that time, the former Soviet armed forces in the Ukrainian SSR included the 43rd Rocket Army, the 5th, 14th 17th and 24th Air Armies of the Soviet Air Forces, an air-defense army (8th Air Defence Army), three regular armies, two tank armies, the 32nd Army Corps, and the Black Sea Fleet.[17] Altogether the Armed Forces of Ukraine included about 780,000 personnel, 6,500 tanks, about 7,000 combat armored vehicles, 1,500 combat aircraft, and more than 350 ships.”
This was the state of things upon the declaration of independence in 1991. That was not the state of affairs in 2014 or 2022.
Go look for Nazis and Azov Nazis under your bed. I hope you realize that when Putin spouts off about de-Nazification, that this is for internal consumption. For his stupid Russian people to lap up.
This is how Putin invokes The Great Patriotic War. Back when Russia fought real Nazis. After Stalin purged and killed his top officers on the eve of WW2. No wonder tens of million of Russians died from the German onslaught.
Of course they conveniently leave out that Russia was the leading supplier of the Nazi War Machine, when the Nazis invaded France and bombed Britain.
Russians also had presence in the Isolationist movement, telling the US to stay out of the “Imperialist European War”.
Ohhh, see, I was going more by torchlight parades by people carrying posters of Bandera, parades in Lithuania where veterans of the 14th SS Galician division are feted, nazi salutes, SS tattoos, the 2nd SS Wolfsangel flags and emblems everywhere, etc etc. They even carry the emblem of Oskar Dirlewanger on their uniforms.
That’s more what I was paying attention to rather than what Putin said. But nice try.
“the Armed Forces of Ukraine included approximately 780,000 personnel, 7,000 armored vehicles and 6,500 tanks”
Now go away. Do your own research. I’m not your secretary.
These are very tiny and obscure activities and you know it. You don't give a shit about the nazis of today. You just like justifying Putin's war against Ukraine. I don't know why, but you like Russia and Putin in his Ukraine adventure/ invasion.
Maybe this has to do with Putin being your misbegotten anti-GloboHomo savior?
Stalin and Hitler were kindred spirits. They knew each other very well. Carving up Poland and Europe for themselves. This all worked out great until......
Macron and others went to Putin before he invaded, trying to negotiate and talk peace.
Putin, Lavrov, in fact Russia as a whole kept saying that they would not invade, and any statements to the contrary were hoaxes.
They lied.
Putin’s regime does not live up to promises it made yesterday, so negotiations are worthless.
Yet people still have tried to talk peace with Putin.
But Putin says the base criteria for him to start negotiations is that Ukraine recognise first his annexation of Ukrainian territory.
Putin does not want peace
Nope, it is providing a state with means to defend itself from the neighbourhood bully who invaded it
