Democrats push to eliminate the debt ceiling, allow unlimited government borrowing.

Dozens of House Democrats have proposed legislation that would eliminate the debt ceiling, which would allow the government to borrow without any limit set by Congress. The federal government hit the $31.381 trillion debt ceiling last week, and House Republicans are pushing for commitments to cut back on the record growth in federal spending before agreeing to allow more borrowing. But Democrats accuse Republicans of setting up the possibility of prohibiting a debt ceiling hike, which would make the government unable to fund all of its current obligations.

Democrats say it's 'dangerous' for Republicans to demand spending cuts as a condition of raising the borrowing limit.

The BS gets deeper and deeper.

The true leaders will only emerge after a collapse happens, and that’s probably a long way off.

Right now, nearly everyone in DC is happy to kick the can down the road, and given that most other Western and industrialized nations are in exactly the same debt position as the USA (or worse!), we can keep spending.

So that’s what will happen.

How about tying the national debt payment to the pay for government workers? Whatever percentage the national debt increases, decrease the pay for government employees the same percentage.

There are NO payments for principle for the national ‘debt’, it’s just interest. Always was since the FED creation.

See the Grace Commission report.

Pretty soon, a 10-dollar bill will be worth oh... about what 10 cents was worth in 1950.

The Democrat party is what is dangerous. We need to rid the entire nation of career politicians and of those whose sole purpose in life is to perpetuate government.

The debt ceiling does not allow for unlimited government spending, it just provides a way for financing the money you’ve already spent. If you want to cut spending, then you need to cut appropriations.

I mean, really - you pass a $1.7 trillion spending bill, and taxes are not enough to cover it. What are you going to do? Not pay? You shouldn’t have passed the bill in the first place if you don’t want to spend the money.
