"Pretty soon, a 10-dollar bill will be worth oh... about what 10 cents was worth in 1950."

Sometimes on a Saturday my mother would give my brother and me each a 50 cent silver coin, either a Liberty or a Franklin half dollar. We'd walk into town and have a ball. See the kids' matinee, candy bar, hamburger, coke, maybe even a comic book. You'd think we were whooping it up in Las Vegas. Never felt so rich before or since.

Republicans favor unlimited government borrowing to subsidize Zelensky and his Ukraine government.

Prove me wrong.

The Democrat Party motto: “Anything to hurt America.”

Mitch McConnell: “Socialism and unlimited federal spending are evil. Unless it’s for Ukraine”

Sick of the farce, it’s time to quit pretending that we do and that men are women and that men give birth.

We no longer live in a constitutional republic with limited government.

Businesses, unelected bureaucracies and big billfolds run everything.

They even tell us how to think.

Sadly, you are spot on above.

The only way you get in trouble as an elected leader in the US is to NOT kick the can.

We truly are an immoral country when you admit the problems we are passing on to our children and grandchildren. They even admitted that we were vaccinating children to protect adults.

What happened to my country?

As if we didn’t already have unlimited government borrowing. The “debt ceiling” is a fiction, a joke, whose existence is only to provide a fig leaf of cover for their spending. It’s only to make the rubes back home think they are “doing something.”

They never ran into a “debt ceiling” they couldn’t break through with the stroke of another pen, another Congress, another Speaker, and another President regardless of which party was momentarily in power.

Wonder if their dem partners in the bolshevik banking business would allow the same with their credit cards?

(minus bankruptcy protection/fed safety net)

You’re onto something there. How about an inverse relationship?

Federal Payroll = X / Federal Debt.

Federal employees: 1,408,055
Federal Payroll: $110,947,853,750
Federal Debt: $31,508,580,000,000

X = Federal Payroll x Federal Debt = 110e+9 * 31.5e+12 = 3.465e+24

So we freeze Federal Payroll = 3.465e+24 / Federal Debt.

If debt goes up, then total government employee pay will go down and people quit working for the government. Result: fewer people to spend our money.

I wonder is the general public can also get no debt limit on their credit cards, and if they do spend too much, that nobody comes to collect and the debt is forgiven or forgotten.

But heck, if there is no debt limit for government, why even pay for anything? Paying means that somebody is keeping tabs, and might want to collect what is due. Heck, why even collect taxes if spending is not tied to any type of collections from the economy, businesses and people.

I’m all for no spending limit if the government gave up on collecting taxes and fees.

Let them do it. Why not? They always raise the debt limit anyway, just do away with the pretense.
