This is just a brief video snippet of the viral speech mentioned in the headline.
Here's an excerpt:
Free speech is not some right-wing reframing of whatever. It's the foundation of Western civilization. The only way to deal with the problem of racism is to treat people on the content of their character and nothing else. The fact that Woke culture seeks to overturn that is a new form of racism.
Here's a link to the entire speech: Konstantin Kisin | This House Believes Woke Culture Has Gone Too Far - Oxford Union (about 9 minutes)
Correction: video snippet is actually 54 seconds.
As an aside, he points out that the UK contributes only 2% of the ingredients that cause climate change and therefore there is nothing--NOTHING--the UK can do that will matter.
There is a great book on the topic.
“Fossil Future: Why Global Human Flourishing Requires More Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas—Not Less” by Alex Epstein

Seen it and it’s good. He’s speaking to young people who are off camera. Puts a little comedic affect in it.
As you say, points out that the UK is only 2% of global emissions and that if it sunk into the ocean, it wouldn’t make a difference. He also points out the obvious, that China/India are the largest producers and that they’re poor and you’re not going to get poor people to stop trying to become less poor and definitely not going to get them to become poorer. Same with Central/South America.
He doesn’t try to say climate change is a hoax because they would stop listening right there. He tells them they need to quit throwing food on paintings and need to educate themselves and innovate new technologies like former generations.
Great comedian. More people need to know who he is. I saw this video before with zero context. I had to search through the comments to see who it was and where.
It is interesting that he didn’t mention Africa.
Saw and heard him on Tucker last week…..Impressive
Not a lot of industrialization in Africa thought China is working on that. What Africa does have is super low wage human labor and children are fair game for laborers. Those kids helping to mine cobalt have a small carbon footprint though.
True but Africa does have a serious pollution problem. With a population second only to Asia, their lack of industrialization is made up for by their antiquated infrastructure and lifestyles.
Africa, unlike India, China and Brazil, isn’t going anywhere. It’s going to stay poor and under developed and basically a source of commodities and raw materials for more advanced regions.
Wife and I have been watching Triggernometry on YouTube for about two years now, on which Lisin and Francis Foster (another comedian and a former schoolteacher) interview various conservative and not so conservative people. Awesome stuff. Highly recommended.
Kisin. Typing on phone.
He was on Tucker Carlson last week.
Don't you think the poor people in Africa would like to move up the economic ladder ever so slightly to improve their lives?
The problem is that the climate change crowd want--actually demand--restrictions that would not only prevent an ever-so-slight improvement in the lives of Africans but would probably even make them worse.
You raise an interesting point about Africa’s continued exploitation. I’ll bet China is planning to develop some “gated” cities in Africa that are quite modern.
