A shooter opened fire at a ballroom dance studio, killing at least 10 and injuring as many more on Saturday night in the city of Monterey Park, a near suburb of Los Angeles. The shooting happened shortly after the conclusion of a nearby celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year. The gunman is still at large and a motive has not been determined.

Meanwhile in the Dakotas, Montana, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, many parts of Tennessee and Texas, and elsewhere with high legal firearms ownership rates, there continues to be very little if any violent crime. Something that seems to evade these authors and other lazy journalists.

This is a patently false and dishonest statement. True “military style” firearms of the fully automatic version were prohibited through grandfathering in 1978, even though no legally owned fully automatic firearm had ever been involved in a violent crime in Canada.
The authors also fail to consider that violent crime in Canada was much lower when the firearms laws were that great deal more casual during the 1950s, ‘60s, and early ‘70s when police permits to purchase firearms were not required (one could go into a decent department store or sporting goods place and buy a standard hunting rifle and shotgun plus ammunition and basically no questions were asked). I wonder why then, was there basically no violence at Toronto Maple Leaf Stanley Cup victory parades during the 1960s, but there was a shooting that took place at the 2019 Toronto Raptors victory celebration?

Probably thought it was getting back at the originators of covid. Probably lost someone to it. Probably did not know where Dr mengele fauxci lived.

I am currently in my fourth hospital stay in the last two months. Probably sixty percent of the people working in the two hospitals where I’ve stayed are black. I have been treated wonderfully well by all of them. They are polite, helpful and often went out of their way to make me more comfortable. (A big ask, given DVT clots running from my toes to my middle abdomen where they were kept from my lungs by a filter.)
Respectfully. The problem is not “the race.” The problem is that President LBJ set it up that a black woman made money by having children who were essentially fatherless. Many of them have become feral animals. America has a welfare policy problem, not a race problem. Change the policies and within one to two generations there will be a significant behavior change for better. (I don’t see that ever happening because, as Reagan said, (approximatly) nothing is closer to immortality than a government program.)

America’s “gun problem” is focused in just 31 counties and over half of the problem is caused by less than 5% of the population (13% factored down to account for males of a certain age range).
That is not a “gun” problem. That is a “culture” problem.
Has a description of the shooter been released? Can’t seem to find one yet.
