The human race has gone through a number of ages: the Dark Ages, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Age of Reason.
We are now in the Age of Introspective Contrition, a.k.a., wokeness. The Age of Introspective Contrition is a leftist initiative which exploits guilt to establish thought processes and cultural mores which serve to solidify its political position, which is to pander to the disadvantaged for political gain.
It was ushered in with political correctness, which requires one to be introspectively contrite before framing casual speech content that might be misinterpreted or perceived as hurtful. One who ignores the dictates of p.c. runs the risk of issuing microaggressions, forcing the offended recipient to seek shelter in a safe space to find solace in snacks, emotional support, and if necessary anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medication. Such hurtful behavior cannot be tolerated!
Having established p.c. as a foothold, it has now moved on to cancel culture, which advances speech control from “you shouldn’t say that” to “you can’t say that.” Any speech now remotely undermining the Party narrative is disinformation, hate speech, racist, bigoted, stochastic terrorism, or a threat to democracy. Just shut up, go to your room and self-flagellate in contrition. Maybe even lose your job. Repeat offenders might soon be subject to fines or incarceration. Woe unto he who speaks freely! Elon Musk threatens to replace Donald Trump as public enemy No. 1.
Being American in itself is cause for introspective contrition. America was built on slavery. Its society is structurally racist, based in white supremacy. Whites need to overcome subconscious bias. America is primarily responsible for global warming and owes the planet reparations. Bow your head! We must repent and rebuild a society based in equity, diversity, and inclusion!

This is one reason why leftists hate Christianity. In repentance to God and seeking forgiveness we find freedom from guilt. Whereas leftists rely on guiltmongering to manipulate and control people. They hate the loss of control that comes with forgiveness and freedom in Christ.

The “ism” that is behind all this crap is the same stupid old catastrophic failure of Marxism. Never, ever forget that Marx believed that all of human experience was nothing more than class struggle. He and his followers see human history as an endless parade of this group pitted against that group, to be replaced by another group or pair of groups when that conflict burns out. No “class conflict” means no Marxism. No Marxism means no way for these phony pseudo-intellectuals to siphon power off of the induced rage of others; if people get along in a cooperative system, these bastards are doomed to shrivel and die, looking stupid and impotent as they do.

We’ve been guilted about destroying the environment, warming the planet, past slavery, racism, inequality, poverty, white supremacy, toxic masculinity, etc, etc,. Had a “Woke” woman in the checkout line behind me in the grocery store the other day. She was obviously corralling her two little future communist away from me. I asked her what the issue was.
It turned out my sweater had (without me realizing it, gotten hung on my holster and the GP-100 in the middle of my back was showing. She was afraid the revolver was going to become alive and spontaneously shoot her or her brats.
This would have ended with me pulling the sweater down except and issuing a half hearted apology but the Hispanic man behind her piped up, “Hey then don’t let those kids get too close to me either!” He opened his jacket and showed a holstered .45. Then a woman in the next aisle got a pink mini semi-auto out of her purse and said, “Or me!” I thought the woman behind me was going to crap her pants.
I don’t know.
