The Whole purpose and bottom line.

Wonder who all get a cut.

The reason they are public is because no one actually has a use for them

/\

You just mentioned grazing leases moron.

How they connect the panels to the power grid ?

Unicorn/tesla waves ?

We have tried that. Limited success.

The problem with geothermal is that the hot zones are usually mineral laden. So no matter if you use natural steam or inject water, you get VERY high concentrations of mineral. These either deposit themselves on the surface of anything that is exposed to the steam, or acid and other chemical treatments have to be done to keep the minerals at bay.

Ordinarily the steam and condensate would have to be treated before disposal, but the EPA and DOE have given these sites exemptions.

Even then they are not very profitable once the cost of maintenence and component replacement are factored in to the equation.

"Wrong. Water from the earth contains huge amounts of highly corrosive dissolved salts and minerals."

Very true...but surmountable by extracting only the heat with an enclosed recirculated "refrigerant" (working fluid).

I still prefer nukes. Small modular nukes, which the US has been building and using successfully since the "Nautilus" was launched back in the 1950's. It is the great behemoth installations that have given the problems.

Lol, I should have known that others here on FR would be in the know.

Sounds as though you are familiar with the same sites in the USA that I have visited.

30+ miles of pipe is expensive, especially when it’s above ground and insulated.

Just dig a few miles further: https://www.quaise.energy/

In principle it’s simply too simple to garner attention from the big solar and wind types.

Yeah, I read about this tech some years ago...good to have a current update. We shall see if they can “make it fly”.

But I still prefer SMR’s (small modular reactors).

Just on TV last night, birds explosively catching on fire in mid air. Unbelievable video. Turns out it was a solar concentrater of acres of mirrors, focusing on a center receiver that reached 1200f. When the birds flew through the concentrated light, poof!

Either or both would be perfect. No need for acres of solar panels or bird choppers.

They are doing the same thing to US coastal waters - with the ‘benefit’ of eliminating commercial fisheries because there will be NO fish living in waters where wind farms are located (on the beast fishing grounds). All shellfish will die off as well.

A fully automatic .22LR would use a lot of magazines putting holes in those solar panels! Helicopter assault!

Gonna need a lot of DACA slaves to keep those panels clean

Why would that happen? I'm from Louisiana, and fish LOVE any kind of stationary underwater structure...they function as artificial reefs so the small fish hide in them from their predators. I fail to see why a windmill platform would be significantly different.

It’s a waste of good farm land. We should be growing food on that land.

Electrical cables and most of all horrible vibrations.

Long explanations why for both - Windmills are not inert objects like an oil platforms, but actively sending out all of the above.

You can sense those things for yourself - just go visit your local wind farm and imagine living under one of the turbines.

You are correct. My statement was inaccurate.

The reason the western areas are public lands is because no one bought them. They were offered for sale to be homesteaded but were not.

Some of the undesirable land is however suitable for grazing and is leased for that purpose

"Electrical cables and most of all horrible vibrations."

Uh, the fish congregate at working drilling rigs, which have plenty of both electrical cables and vibration.

"Long explanations why for both - Windmills are not inert objects like an oil platforms, but actively sending out all of the above."

I would like to see those "explanations", because, based on my very close exposure to oil rigs, the "explanation" doesn't stand.
