Ohio state Sen. Matt Dolan - the moderate Republican who lost to Trump-backed J.D. Vance in a primary - is now setting his sights on Democrat Sherrod Brown's U.S. Senate seat in 2024.
'I am unapologetically committed to putting the needs of Ohio first and delivering results as our next U.S. Senator,' Dolan said in a statement. 'With the courage of my convictions, clarity of purpose and a resolute focus on the challenges and opportunities facing our beloved state, I am ready to lead.'

No on Dolan. And if that is the alternative to Brown, better to keep the enemy you know.
Dolan aside, even though Vance won and Ohio is redder, Brown will be much tougher to beat than Tim Ryan. He’s a better campaigner, smarter than Ryan and is well-liked among D blue-collars around the state.
He’s step-in’ up to the plate. Jordan won’t. Too many want to play it safe. Who’s our top-tier candidates. Previous losers need not apply. Remember incumbency is a tough nut to crack.
Dolan? O, thanks. Mike Turner (OH-10) would beat Brown.
Brown must go down. Renacci needed a rapid response team to counter Browns allegations of tax impropriety.
Your read on Brown is accurate. He has been uncontroversial but consistently liberal democrat, high name recognition, spent his whole life in government at one level or the next. Made his name as a “working families” democrat. Yes he will be tough to beat. By anyone.
He's a non-starter, but Dolan is a Deep State TDS crap-pile. No choices will be allowed for ANY Conservative, and Dem's/Deep State will use the same-ol' split-the-ticket with multiple "Candidates". Besides, with Dem's controlling ballot counting, mail-ins, and ballot harvesting, your vote does NOT count anymore, anyways.
Let’s send this POS to the trash heap right now.
I have some disturbing information about implementation of RED Flag in Ohio. The governor signed the bill into law this last week. A November leftist Columbus Journal article shows the Nazism that is about to start happening in our state. Red flag isn’t mentioned in either article except to say Red Flag was stripped from the bill, which is a total lie. Most Ohioans are totally unaware of what just happened. Risk Assessments are the operative words here.

Who says the Ohio Democrats want Dolan?
Unfortunately, Mike Turner is a Neo-con turd as well.
Agreed on Turner. He’s basically Dayton, so conservatives can’t expect too much from him.
Republican Steve Austria was redistricted out, His district was basically split between Turner and Boehner when Ohio lost two seats in 2010. I think Marcie Captur was the Democrap from around Cleveland who benefited from the 2010 redistricting. They lost 1 and we lost 1. I digress. Austria stepped down to let Turner have the new district.
Maybe Austria could be lured out of retirement to oppose Brown...
Austria would definitely be an improvement over Mike Turner.
I know nothing about this guy, but his overuse of meaningless platitudes strongly suggests to me that he lacks conservative convictions.
“Unfortunately, Mike Turner is a Neo-con turd as well.”
Matt Dolan is more conservative than Mike Turner, and Matt Dolan is a smarmy RINO ass. Dolan begged liberal Democrats at the last minute to cross over and vote for him in the 2022 GOP Senate primary vs. J.D. Vance — and many did but thankfully not enough.
Dolan is scum; Turner is probably even worse. If those are our only 2 options against Sherrod Brown, Brown wins easily (again). Same applies if proven loser (and yet another moderate/squish) Jim Renacci gives it another try.
For such an allegedly “red” state, OH Republicans sure don’t seem to have a very deep bench.
Brown is one of the most liberal Senators in the country, doesn't represent the people of Ohio and should be easy to beat if Republicans put up a quality candidate given that election are secure here.
The Ohio DNC vote fraud machine appears to have serious issues.
You got that right. Ohio always has too many Rinos. Jim Jordan is the most proven conservative of the lot.
