E-commerce giant Amazon has failed in its recent efforts to overturn a union vote at its JFK8 facility in Staten Island.
Engadget reports that a regional director with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has rejected the e-commerce giant’s request to overturn the outcome of a unionization vote at its JFK8 facility in Staten Island. The JFK8 facility became the first unionized Amazon warehouse in the US after the vote, which took place in April 2022, with workers voting 2,350 to 1,912 in favor of joining a union.

Workers have a right to organize, owners have a right to close and move elsewhere.
That’s over 6 hours away. Warehouses are set up near population centers for a reason.
The logistics involved within Amazon are amazing.
Bozos doesn’t care as long as he can still buy more yachts
Hell just fire more people to make up for it
that’s what walmart tells you when you are hired.
You unionize this location and we will shut it down and build a new one across the street.
As a good lefty, shouldn’t Bezos encourage unionization?
No, and I never want to be. :)
He’s got a new bimbo? Or does he still have the news broadcaster from here in LA?
“The JFK8 facility became the first unionized Amazon warehouse in the US after the vote...”
Next week’s headline:
“Amazon Set to Close JFK8 Facility”
Perhaps I meant "news bimbo", instead of "newest bimbo".
We could axe the Master for his call on this matter, former president Bimbo Dickins...
Personally I don’t have a problem with Amazon unionizing, remember Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post, how have they affected the political process since he’s owned them ?
Besides, I’d rather pay a little motor shop at a mom and pop versus some mega store like Walmart or Amazon, whenever they show up in a small or medium sized city they put everything else out of business
Are the warehouse workers employees of Amazon directly or do they work for a third-party company?
how long before ‘d’ose good guys’ ztart getting paid for not being there?
now, the democrats have another piggybank!
also, how long before ‘stuff’ goes awry in shipments to the warehouse, but find their way to New Jersey???
Stay there and die, don’t move it south.
Lol, they’re terrible…
At a point in time unions served a very useful purpose. Better working conditions, 40 hour week, and so on. Today they have morphed into nothing but a way to pay their union bosses big salaries even if the people they are supposed to represent go on strike....the bosses still get their full paychecks.
When I was a kid I worked at a unionized grocery store. The union pulled a strike. At the meeting, being a young naive kid, I asked it they were going to forfeit their paychecks since we we not getting ours. I got hammered like you would not believe. I learned right then and there how power works.
“Yes, shut it down. New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania are all close by.”
And all union.
These headline writers know Bezos doesn’t work there any more, right?
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who has had a rocky relationship with President Donald Trump throughout his term, said Biden and Harris’ victory signifies that “unity, empathy and decency are not characteristics of a bygone era.”
************************************************************
Biden’s marxist inner White House circle, like all marxists everywhere, loves UNIONS. Bezo’s get’s zero “empathy” from communists. Bezos talks out of both sides of his mouth.
Amazon built the warehouse in Staten Island for a reason, though. Tractor trailers crossing into SI from New Jersey must pay a toll that ranges from $87.50 to $115 depending on the time of day.
