Been a wet, stormy day here with sunshine between the waves of ‘wet’. No severe storms here, at least, but other areas got hit pretty hard.

We’re under a winter weather advisory tonight and tomorrow with snow expected. Not a lot of accumulation because the ground is warm but the wet roads will ice over overnight. Glad I don’t need to go anywhere.

Sounds like a wild day and possibly night at your place. So glad that you didnโ€™t get the tornadoes like other cities have. Selma got slammed bad.

It wasn’t exactly wild here. Just wet, dry, wet, dry. There were a few severe storms in TN but they missed us. Whew! I’ve seen some of the damage at Selma. :-(

I’m not happy about the snow but at least it’ll be scattered snow showers and not a big, day-long dumping. And will be gone Saturday. I can live with that. LOL

Oh, yeah, a snow like that is fun to look at and then it goes away before you have to either shovel it or go out in it. Both of which is not good!

It’s just dry here. Sooooo dry. We haven’t had rain at all for the past couple of months. My lips and skin are like snakeskin and my hair is like straw. HATE this! And there’s no rain in sight either.

They’re only predicting an inch or two here so no shoveling would be required. But then, they’ve said that before and we got 5 inches or more. LOL We’ll see what happens.

We haven’t been as dry as you have but we’ve had much lower humidity the past several months than normal. I know what you mean about skin and hair being dry. I’ve gone through a lot of lotion trying to keep the skin on my hands from cracking. That’s painful.

It is painful and I look even older than I am without some moisture to “plump” my skin up. LOL!

I wouldn’t even mind having some snow right now...fast-melting kind. The kitties wouldn’t be happy for a bit, but it would be slow-melting and would be good for the lawn and gardens.

You could definitely use some “wet” there for the grass and other plants. But it would take a lot of snow to amount to enough rain to do much good. I don’t think you’d be happy with that much. I sure wouldn’t. LOL

You bet, I wouldn’t want that much. That really creates toooo many extra problems for getting around and more importantly, worrying about and taking care of the kitties.

We have about the same temperature again. Yours...at this moment is 39 and ours is 37. I’ll bet there’ll be ice in the cats’ water in the morning. Hopefully not solid.

Yes, you do have the extra worry of the outside kitties who would be stuck out there with the snow.

I’ll need to head out to the well houses to check the heaters. I’d bumped them up Christmas weekend, then bumped them down after it warmed up again. We haven’t had lows in the 20s since then but will tonight and I need to make sure the heaters weren’t bumped down too much. Don’t need to keep the buildings hot and pay outrageous electric bills. Just warm enough to keep the exposed pipes from freezing. I’ll figure out that happy medium eventually.
I dread going out. There’s a nasty, cold wind blowing and a little mist in the air. I brought the rain gauge in at midnight and brrrrrrrrr.

I don’t blame you for not wanting to go trudging out there to check those heaters, but it would be awful if the pipes froze, or worse...burst. That WOULD be a mess. At least you aren’t going to have to get out on the roads till it gets a bit warmer. That sure wouldn’t be fun either. How much rain did you get today?

Heaters are fine and it looks like I have them set well for winter. Unless we get another arctic blast, God forbid.
But oof!! That wind is rough. The well houses are by the back field, north of the house, and there’s nothing to block the wind. I’m glad it isn’t raining or snowing right now.

We got .9 of an inch of rain today. A good amount but no flooding.

That was a very nice amount of rain. I hope it was sort of a slow one so the fields and yards will benefit from it.

Good deal! Sounds like you’ve found the right level of heat to get them through this cold spell. I don’t think it’s an arctic blast...is it?

I guess I’d better finish this show and head out. I didn’t realize it was as late as it is. See ya tomorrow!

There were some heavy downpours but there was lighter rain too. There was a little runoff but most soaked in.

No, this isn’t an arctic blast. Just a typical cold front. It’s winter.
We’ll be in the mid 60s this time next week. THAT isn’t typical.

You must have had a nap today since you managed to stay up this late. LOL
Sleep well.
