“It is unlawful for a person to possess or transfer a large-capacity magazine within New Mexico, except when the person is: a resident of another state who transports a large-capacity magazine into New Mexico for use exclusively in an established shooting competition” or “a peace officer, in accordance with the policies of the peace officer’s law enforcement agency,” with multiple caveats. Other minor exceptions include being a member of the armed forces, certain manufacturers, certain armored vehicle operators, or those displaying such weapons in government-run museums or exhibits. How about Safe Passage when the owner keeps traveling"? Just going through their s#!thole state on the way to a free state?

The worthless republicans need to wake up.
Every time the communists introduce one of these 2A violations the republicans should have some type of counter bill waiting on some ones desk ready to go.
Maybe a bill seeking to require all heads of households to own and be proficient in the use of a long gun.
Maybe a bill requiring 30% of all school staffs be trained and armed.
Doesn't matter what it is as long as it pisses the commies off.
Let them spend some time fighting these types of bills from our side, one after another.

Okay so load each one with nine rounds then tape them together. Each one is separate.

Okay so load each one with nine rounds then tape them together. Each one is separate. Still won't be legal. It's not how many you load in them, it's how many rounds the magazine is capable of holding.

So just put nine in one magazine then nine in another. They’re both individual magazines. Then tape then together to have eighteen rounds right there.

Not much chance of local gangs complying. They recently busted a drug and retail theft ring that had a frigging German MG34 for Pete’s sake.

Not just an anti-AR law. Even my Glock 26 has a 10 rnd mag. The std Glock 19 mag is 15 rounds. Haven’t found a 9 rnd mag for either. If the law passes, wait and see if the market comes up with 9 rnd mags for either.

The police should not be exempt.

if “large capacity’ means 10 or more, 9 rounders would be the maximum legal. Why stop at 9? Some of the pocket semis like the Ruger LPC have six-round magazines (7 if you have one in the chamber)

Boy is that not how it works, they are going to ban anything *capable* of holding more than 9. And they probably aren’t going to grandfather them in and have searches and seizures for them and registration.
The blue states are very close to their gun grabbing goals.

Hmmm - thought they were grandfathered in as in: if you have it you can keep it.

Problem is that NM only has 2 million inhabitants, to small to Interest manufacturers to tool up production.
