We are doing better but still not back to normal. It turns out that this healing is a very slow process. I now understand why they say to stay indoors for two weeks. I have absolutely no desire to go out into the world again, yet.
You are hardier than I am. That’s some cold weather! Hang in there. How many hours of daylight are you getting now? At least the days are starting to get longer.
Stay warm!
Yep, it hit about 78° here today and we’re expecting the same tomorrow. But cooler by the weekend. Not snow flurries like radu (yikes!) but highs around 60°, lows maybe in the upper 30s.
Not bad at all, but it means I’ll have to wear shoes instead of sandals when I go out. (sigh…)
THANKS. I LIVE IN UPSTATE NY, IN THE CATSKILL MTS., BUT I USED TO LIVE IN THE DESERT. BETWEEN 2PM AND 4PM
NO ONE WAS OUTDOORS. WE WERE ALL NAKED, OR CLOSE TO IT, LAYING ON OUR BED IN FRONT OF WHAT ARE CALLED DESERT COOLERS, OR SWAMP COOLERS, 4’-5’HIGH SPEED FANS BUILT INTO AN EXTERIOR WALL BLOWING AIR AT HIGH VOLUME OVER A FILTER’ISH MESH THAT HAD MULTIPLE DRIPS OF WATER COMING DOWN THAT EVAPORATED FROM THE WIND OF THE FAN AND COOLED THINGS OFF! A LOT!
I KNOW HEAT! JUDEAN DESERT WILDERNESS HEAT. MAN KILLING HEAT. DEATH VALLEY KIND OF PLACE. BAD.
IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT SWAMP COOLERS ARE CHECK ‘EM OUT. MUCH LESS ELECTRICITY AND VERY, VERY EFFECTIVE...BUT THEY NEED A WATER LINE.
You DO know your stuff! Great result! Thanks for taking the quiz!
I know exactly what you mean. It took weeks for me to want to even bathe [well, I did, but it was a struggle] or put clothes on, much less go anywhere. Listen to your body. You’ll know when you’re better. I hope Mrs. spel doesn’t have that cough for too long. It can really take the wind out of your sails.
Ohh, yeah, I know exactly what swamp coolers are. The pads were made from shredded pine or something that eventually began to stink as they clogged with water minerals. They were cheaper on the electricity, but became more and more ineffective or we became more sensitive to the heat.. We were glad to get central air....or at least hubby was. He didn’t have to change those icky pads on the roof in the summer heat. LOL!
Doggone! Having to give up the sandals is the pits! And shorts. Yeah, we’ll have about the same as you will later this week, though you guys have more humidity than we do. Are you still in your temporary abode?
Yeah, if 40 was the bottom, it wouldn’t be too bad but I know better. I just don’t want any more arctic blasts.
YOURS SOUNDS MUCH DIFFERENT THAN THE TYPE WE HAD. NOTHING ON THE ROOF, AND THE FILTER/FLOW MATRIX WAS JUST A PULL OUT, PLUG IN, ONCE A MONTH 10 MINUTE JOB.
I WOULDN’T CLIMB UP ON A ROOF ANYMORE EVEN TO JUST JUMP OF IT!
ANYWAY, IT’S A KNOWN OPTION THAT YOU’VE DECIDED TO NOT USE. MY WORK HERE IS DONE. LOL!
I’M OFF TO THE CRYPT. TTYL.
Yes, manicotti is my favorite but I do love a plate of good baked spaghetti almost as much. I don’t eat meat o so am limited a bit. Ravioli is ok but there isn’t enough cheese like there is in manicotti.
No leftovers because tonight’s supper WAS leftovers. LOL
LOL! It sounds like you don’t like shoes any more than I do. At least you get to wear your sandals sometimes this time of year. my tootsies have had to deal with shoes for a while and they ain’t happy about it.
This is the battery clamp I'm going to have replaced today at the Ford place.
This usually shouldn't take a skilled mechanic any more than 45 minutes to an hour to replace.
And, I got my teeth cleaned yesterday.
Yesterday at Chisolm Trail Park:
As to the quiz well, believe it or not I got 12 out of 12.((LOL)) WOW!!!!!!!
How's everyone doing this morning?
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Yep, that clamp has seen better days. It’s rusting away. Glad you can get it replaced so soon.
It looks like Gizmo dragged you all over the place yesterday, and he looks quite pleased about it. LOL
Neither do I want any more arctic blasts, but it ain’t over yet. I wonder if any of the crazy weather from CA will make it over our way. I kinda hope not. I want rain but not floods! Our flat land can’t handle it.
11 out of 12, I watch too much TV.
Yup. It’s far from over.
The systems that have been hammering CA have been passing north of you as they scoot east. They lose a lot of their energy once they get away from the coast so the areas inland that they roll over haven’t been flooded like CA has. The rain we’ve gotten lately has been from systems that hit CA first, as is the one that will come through here Thursday.
It doesn’t look like you’ll get any of that one either. It’ll stay north as it comes through.
I wish CA would get a break! I can’t believe the footage I see on tv. Holy cow! Sadly, there’s another biggie headed that way. :-(
I went back and searched for past quiz threads, saw the impossible trivia quiz and took it, got one question wrong, then searched the thread and saw that I took it when you posted it, and I got the same question wrong again!

Well, in this case, that’s a good thing! Good results!
