Former President Trump is taking a victory lap following Speaker Kevin McCarthy‘s (R-Calif.) win after 15 rounds of voting.
“The Fake News Media was, believe it or not, very gracious in their reporting that I greatly helped Kevin McCarthy attain the position of Speaker of the House,” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday.
“Thank you, I did our Country a big favor!”
Although there was talk of Trump’s weakened political clout after Republicans opposed to McCarthy’s Speakership bid ignored the former president’s urging to back him, reports throughout the days-long voting process showed that Trump may have successfully swayed some of McCarthy’s GOP detractors

“He should be speaking out against a person like McCarthy.”
Not until McCarthy begins his job. Then he should assess his on-the-job decisions.
Bingo...we have a winner. Of course Trumps ego is overblown. He didn’t do jack...except stick his nose in where it didn’t belong. His advice early on in this was to “take the win”. Well that wouldn’t have resulted in the changes that have come about.
Trump is entitled to express his opinion like all of us are. But too often lately he is spouting off when he should sit back and be quite. A true leader knows when to lead and when to let things run their course.
Republicans HUMILIATE The Squad By Using Leverage In Speaker Election w/Brianna Joy Gray
They discuss how tilted media coverage was against the rebels, how Democrats crushed a similar opportunity by Progressives 2 years ago, and how the both parties actively stifle opposition to the Status Quo.
Context is everything
Trump appointed Christopher Wray and many other Deep State members. McCarthy will do his best to impede investigations. Remember the 20 are “terrorists” and “enemies”. They will pay for their patriotism.

You mean like Biden? He kept out of it.
Who knows what went on behind the scenes. Perhaps Trump was communicating with the 20. It may have been his idea to put all these restrictions on McCarthy. We only know what the media wants us to know. And how they love splitting us…and there’s fools who fall for it. Talk about “Karen’s”. If folks were happier under Bush like people or with the current regime then keep trashing the guy who has proven to be able to lead the country the best…warts and all. All I have to do is look at my retirement savings to name one.
Includes the 2 Georgia Senate special elections.
Biden didn’t have anything to do with this fight....so what’s your point??
The OP revolves around Trump making some self-aggrandizing comment like “You are welcome America”...and his overblown ego. Instead of keeping his nose out of the situation and only commenting when it was over. He could have displayed leadership by congratulating the party on making sure the American people were better served thru the rule changes that were agreed to.
Instead he made it about himself. That’s ego...not leadership.
Gaetz is pretty much a mini Trump and super annoying.
One of which took place years ago
And for those who think they know Georgia politics you don’t
Christ himself could’ve come down and stumped for Herschel and he still would’ve lost
Had nothing to do with Trump
Actually you are right about that. I concede that last point.
Trump picked Pence as his vice president. Trump placed Alexander Vindman onto the National Security Council.
Trump placed Anthony Fauci onto his COVID-19 task force.
Trump has a huge ego.
He had nothing to do with getting McCarthy elected Speaker.
Excellent point.
Or applauded or made any sound EXCEPT MJG who sat right beside Gaetz and gave him a teasing clap and baleful eyes.
It saved countless lives. #reality
