Among the many incendiary claims in Spare, Prince Harry's upcoming memoir, the boast that he killed 25 Taliban while serving as an Army helicopter pilot in Afghanistan will do him the most long-term damage by far.
I doubt he will recover from it.
Most of the revelations in his book amount to a further public airing of his family's dirty laundry, an endeavour to which he and wife Meghan have devoted their lives since running off in a huff to California. Jaw-dropping as some of them are, their real import serves merely to confirm what most had already concluded about Harry.
Blaming William Kate for encouraging him to dress up as a Nazi for a fancy-dress party in 2005 illustrates his repeated failure to take responsibility for his own stupid actions and reinforces his default position that, no matter his own culpability, he is always the victim.
...he's also breached the long-standing convention among British military veterans of all ranks that they don't talk much about the wars they waged, and never about 'kills'.
Just why Harry decided to flout that convention is best known to himself.
Former Army officers, including those who'd served with him in Afghanistan, are speaking out against what he has said. But I found the testimony of civilians whose fathers and grandfathers had fought in various wars even more telling.
When news broke of Harry's 'kill' claim, I tweeted: 'My father was in uniform against the Nazis for six years. Never once in his long life did he ever talk to me about killing the enemy. Even the concept, much less numbers. And he was at Alamein. On the ground. Not in a helicopter.'
...Harry has placed a large target not just on his own back but on his family's and even his neighbours' backs.

Then he fell under the hypnotic sway of this (to him) irresistibly beautiful pathological narcissist (and mother figure). She obviously treats and commands him around like a puppy.
And this recent "blunder" is what you get. He is obviously desperate to demonstrate his manhood (of which he was deprived by being a royal and by his wife).
I don't say this to cut him slack or to excuse his behavior. It is what it is.
That said, someone in his family needs to get to him and try to open his eyes to the destructive effect his wife is having on him, his family, and his country.
“That said, someone in his family needs to get to him and try to open his eyes to the destructive effect his wife is having on him, his family, and his country.”
That’s why the kids were a big part of her plan. Save himself and lose the children? Near impossible position for him now.
Also, if he does walk, she will destroy his reputation by sharing all his intimiate secrets. She’ll certainly scream racism (she already has) and may even claim physical or sexual abuse.
She is pure smoldering black carbon evil.
...also he should get a paternity test, they may not be his.
She had kids to spring the trap.
He should have a paternity test done. They may not be his.
Needs explanation. “...life of her supply” ?
The House of Windsor can make Meghan's life a living hell if she doesn't give them their way...but Harry is going to have to decide. Someone is going to have to break the spell that Harry is under.
Harry's still searching for the bottom...but he's getting awfully close.
I agree with your assessment. She planned to meet him and probably studied up on things about Harry. He comes off as the perfect beta male controlled by a designing narcissistic woman.
I imagine most of what he thinks now he never thought before. The grievances have been implanted in him. Beware of a person who enters your life and wants to spoil or take away your family. The only family allowed is her black mother. She wants nothing to do with the rest of them.
It is sad that in most of his interviews he has to have a therapist sitting beside him. This guy is a weak mess. A spoiled weak mess.
I wonder who chose his therapist? I bet we can all guess who.
My advice to Harry is to get a real job. Go to a real job and make a self respected man of yourself.
If your wife doesn’t like it, too bad.
In his case, the drug is Meghan. He's got to get rid of her before his life will get any better.
I think it mostly has to do with the addictive power of sex (and other brain chemicals). And it depends on the woman.
It is really an amazing thing to behold.
Some MI6 agents need to abduct Harry for deprogramming. This is a job for Bond.
Hi, allâÂÂnew signup learning the ropes here. I heard about Free Republic in a Twitter chat. I donâÂÂt seem to have the option of making a profile yet, so as introduction, IâÂÂm a woman, 43, married, Virginian, and Constitutional conservative. Apologies for the hijack & glad to be here.
Harry is actually a pretty nasty piece of work. HeâÂÂs fought with photographers, been extremely rude with reporters, and thereâÂÂs a well-known photo of him in a temper fit, arms folded & scowling, while Kate and some man try to reason with him. I think he and Markle deserve each other. She did pursue him, but heâÂÂs no innocent baby. HeâÂÂs almost 40 and he bears the blame for alienating his family. IâÂÂll never forgive him for trashing them while his grandparents were sick and dying.
That is a super weird story. When I read more about it, it turned out that afterwards Diana said that in later years the baby’s remains might be found, and “people would think it was hers.”
Why would Rosa Monckton want her stillborn daughter buried secretly, like that? Inexplicable. Apparently, they got around palace security by telling them that it was a burial of a pet.
It turns out that Rosa Monckton was a contact of Epstein, and several of her contact numbers were in his notebook. Hmmmm ...
He may also be addicted to ordinary drugs.
In the Oprah interview, Harry said that he had been trapped in his old life, but never realised it, until Meghan rescued him. He sounded exactly like someone who had joined a cult.
My advice to Harry is to get a real job. Go to a real job and make a self respected man of yourself.
Excellent advice. If he had a proper profession, a role in life, he would see the past as past, and move on with things that are worthwhile.
Harry made a mistake in leaving the military, where he distinguished himself and found structure and purpose. Especially for a self-centered conniver like Meghan.
“ It has taken me a lifetime to realize something that I actually first saw in HS...and that is that many if not most men will betray everything and everyone (friends, family, children, integrity, wealth, and country) for a certain woman.”
I completely agree. It’s as though they are transformed instantly into unthinking slaves... They’ll betray their buddies, they’ll betray their family, they’ll allow themselves to be treated like dirt over and over, and yet they still stay with the woman, faithful as an obedient dog. It’s truly astonishing when you witness it.
