Stephen Colbert once again roasted House Republicans on Wednesday’s “The Late Show” for their ongoing inability to elect a Speaker of the House now for two whole days. But the host went a bit deeper and more pointed than usual during his ribbing, taking an amusing couple of seconds to imagine what it might be like for Republican hero Ronald Reagan in Hell.
On Wednesday House Republicans failed, for the second day in a row, to elect a Speaker of the House. Leading Candidate Kevin McCarthy is bitterly opposed by the extremist “Freedom Caucus” of Trump supporters, who have been lockstep against him. And so in vote after vote he hasn’t just failed to amass the required 218 votes, he’s actually managed to lose support.
So it is that the House adjourned Wednesday night without a leader; they’ll try again later Thursday. Meanwhile, just know that McCarthy, who has already moved into the speaker’s office despite not actually having the job, has been defeated in six separate votes.

Colbert? Is that a new covid variant or a gain of function merge with an std?
He’ll have a chance to see if that is so. But, doubtful he will find RR there.
If you look deeply into Reagan’s entire long life you will come to see him as perhaps the most Christian-believing president we have ever had, he really tried to live it inside himself, not display it to the outside world.
Surely Reagan’s “twinkle toes” son will issue a statement condemning this attack.

Even if one takes politics out of the equation, he’s still a mega creepy individual.
Reagan was a very good man. He tried to do the best he could
for our nation and I’ll never forget it.
I can’t say where Reagan will wind up, but he sure looks to
be superior to a number of the men God considered His chosen
people in the Old Testament.
Colbert is an embarrassment to himself, and hasn’t a clue
that he is.
Probably not wise for baby-killers to invoke Hell.
Colbert is proof excrement can talk.
That is propaganda exactly as the Nazi’s and Communists used. How hateful of an article and Colbert is a real pig. These scumbags are setting the population up to accept large scale slaughtering of those whom disagree with them.

If one wanted to be really cruel to Colbert, they could ask him if his dad and two brothers were in hell.
