Here We Go. Day 4 House Speakership Vote.
No deals; No McCarthy
*
Bttt
Yep. Think C-Span Coverage Starts At 11:45 AM
This will be a very interesting day. There is going to be some movement, but I do not think there will be enough to make McCarthy speaker. I truly believe McCarthy needs to make a statement about the role the Freedom Caucus is going to play in this Congress as well as address and mitigate their concerns.
SCOTUS to vote TODAY (Jan6) on hearing 2020 election case against Biden, Harris, Pence, senators, congressmen
The lawsuit alleges that the government officials violated their oaths of office by not allowing an investigation into the 2020 election.
..I tend to agree...I don’t know what it will take for him to become speaker...there are several die-hard representatives who have with no doubt said they would never vote for him (e.g., Matt Gaetz of Florida...) I wonder if Jim Jordan of Ohio has any interest in the speaker’s role...he would probably be voted in in a unanimous vote...
I wonder if the 21 House Patriots were waiting for this historic date to do something about the Speakership?
They don’t have standing say our black robed overlords!
🧑🦽
I like Bannon’s idea of making Trump the Speaker for 100 days.
But I know it would never fly if it came to a vote.
It is being reported this morning that they are demanding committee chairmanships - Jim Jordan to head the Judiciary Committee, for example.
Beautiful if they can pull it off.
Another idea floating around - reverse seniority - the longer you stay in Congress, the less power you have.

The Terrible Twenty are heroes to America.
I’m going to start calling the 20
The Marbleheaders
Or
The Indispensables
( hat tip to Patrick K. McDonnell )
By June 1775, the Intolerable Acts, also known as the Coercive Acts, had pushed a port town a little more than 300 miles north of Washington Crossing to the brink.
Rendered unemployed and angry by the strict trade measures imposed by British Parliament, virtually every able-bodied man in Marblehead, Massachusetts, rallied to fight against their common enemy. (Accounts vary significantly as to exactly how many men the group included at its inception.)
The men of the Marblehead Regiment rowed Washington across the Delaware and ‘saved the Continental Army multiple times.’ ·
John Glover’s Regiment of Marbleheaders accomplished an amazing feat on the night of Dec. 25, 1776. They ferried 2,400 men, plus horses and artillery, across the Delaware River in a blinding snowstorm.
Glover’s Regiment had a well-earned reputation for discipline and teamwork.
But not everyone approved of it.
/ sound familiar ? /
I'm not sure if any of the others were by vote....and McCarthy wouldn't have been the only vote...See how Jordan voted
He didn't vote for amnesty either.
So far...looks like you made this whole thing up.
Looks like the Rebel 20 are going to vote for Kevin…
Not all; and there’s going to be a 13th vote...
