GOP Rep. Bacon: House Republicans Voting Against McCarthy Speakership ‘Like Terrorism’
Breitbart ^ | 5 Jan 2023 | PAM KEY

Posted on 01/06/2023 7:55:05 AM PST by SoConPubbie

Representative Don Bacon (R-NE) said Thursday on CNN’s “The Lead” that his Republican colleagues refusing to support Republican leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for Speaker of the House were like terrorists.

When anchor Jake Tapper asked about former Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-VA) saying ‘That he worked in counter-terrorism and you can’t negotiate with terrorists,’ Bacon “I feel that way.”

He continued, “We were talking about that today. Hostage takers at least have a goal, and they have demands. We met those demands, and still, they can’t get to yes. They refuse to get to yes. They’ve been offered everything but one demand that we’ve not gone to. So this is more like terrorism, and you’re right.”

He added, “Their constituents, at some point, are going to say this is baloney. We’ve had enough. You’re derailing the conservative agenda, and I think that’s hopefully going to have some impact over time.”

Bacon concluded, “We are already seeing the outcry of people say this is wrong what they are doing. I hear it in our district, I hear it on talk shows, I hear from conservative commentators. So I think over time, we can have some success here.”

We have the race card, the fascist card, the sexist card, the various -phobe cards, and now the terrorist card.

I would feel sorry for those people who believe the GOP is actually a “conservative” party led by patriots. But I dont. People that gullible and/or ignorant are getting exactly what they deserve.

There’s a lot of a-holes being exposed. You have to wonder what people like Bacon have at stake by voting for McCarthy. Voting for McCarthy is voting for a loser. It’s as if these people want mediocrity. Republican leadership, including McConnell, McCarthy, and Romney-McDaniel are the epitome of low expectations and poor results. There isn’t a thread of excellence in any of them.

So many of these so-called “republicans” sure learn quick from the dems. Calling people “terrorists” and “racists” works for the dems so now we have republicans calling other republicans those names. Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me.

The real terrorists are the Deep State which, among other things, rigs elections and enriches themselves at the expense of We, the People.

They aren't even above arranging an assassination of one of their own if they prove to be an uncooperative tool as JFK did.

One of the Soviet satellite states (I forget which one) had for a time something called the Peasant Party. The Peasant Party was the token opposition party to the Communist Party. The communists won every rigged election, of course. But no one should complain about that because there was an opposition.

The GOP is becoming our country’s version of the Peasant Party.

Is this guy a RINO?

His rhetoric fits. I bet he can’t make a convincing argument to support McCarthy that is based on facts and accomplishments. This is the reason why RINOs don’t fight and don’t win, except when they gang up against conservatives. They have to resort to hyperbolic name calling to compensate and voting in unison. At least they could try voting together against Democrats, but that always seems to fall apart on key pieces of legislation. That’s because they really are Republicans in name only.
