All of the lifer congress critters will leave that amendment dead on the floor.

It is doable if current members of Congress are grandfathered in (they would not be subject to the limitations). This might get quite a few of the current members on board.
There is actually precedence for this. When the 22nd Amendment was passed limiting a president to two terms, the current president - Harry Truman - was grandfathered in. Truman could have run for a third term, or even more.
Nothing is going anywhere. This would have happened with the 20 or without.
These folks can gum up the works for two years.
technically EVERYTHING the 20 wants is going no where..
So they should just give up and let the swamp win?

imagine the difference in government now if term limits went through in the 90s
If term limits are set as house rule, then it is 1) Constitutional and 2) does not go to Senate or the President for signature.
For example:
Rule xyz - No person, who having already served as a Representative to the House for 12 years, shall be sworn into office.
