Nineteen House Republicans on Tuesday abandon fellow GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy in the first and rounds of balloting for speaker.
The loss on first round was the first time that has happened in roughly 100 years, according to MetroWeekly.com.
The balloting in the first round was:
Ten voted for Arizona GOP Rep. Andy Biggs:
Six voted for Ohio GOP Rep. Jim Jordan:
One for Indiana GOP Rep. Jim Banks:
One for Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds
One for New York GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin
In the second round, all 19 for the divided first-round votes went for Jordan.

My great suspicion is that if a thermonuclear device went off over the Capitol that America’s chances of becoming a decent country again would increase exponentially.
Why can’t you establishment types just clone a McConnell and dump him on the house conservatives. You get sellouts, backstabbing and conservative policies tossed into the burn pile in both houses of congress. Oh wait, McCarthy is little Me-Me McConnell. I swear some conservatives like the abuse, the insanity of doing the same things over and over again with the same results and the lash on their hides.

Ok...Compared to McCarthy? Pence? McConnell? Romney? Graham? It’s hard to keep track of just the Rino snakes, and all Dems are snakes by default. No idea why your hackles are raised so much by a relatively powerless person, but one should trust their instincts I guess. Personally, I’ll focus on the people with the power or platform to really effect me.
