CINCINNATI — The Monday Night Football game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills has been officially suspended after Bills' safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and was rushed to the hospital.
Hamlin collapsed on the field and was administered CPR before being driven away in an ambulance during the first quarter of the game.
An official statement from the NFL states Hamlin is in critical condition.
"Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available," the statement reads.

Per ESPN, just as I said when it happened: heart attack.
This raises so many questions.
1) Since “it can’t be” a heart attack, did the medical staff at first treat as a concussion?
2) If so, how long before they adopted proper procedures?
3) Just my opinion, but it seemed to take a LONG time for the ambulance to arrive.
4) Hamlin (whose name was publicly misspelled “Hanlin” several times) has a pulse but is on a breathing machine.
5) So long as he lives, the NFL doesn’t have to worry about the family requesting an autopsy. But if that happens, I suspect the NFL will be on the hook for astronomical damages for forcing the vax on all the players.
6) The irony of the night is that the Bills also have who, to my knowledge, is the ONLY unvaxxed player left in the league other than Aaron Rodgers, Cole Beasley.
7) If Hamlin survives, look for the NFL to jump in with major pre-emptive restitution to the family, which would in itself cause a multitude of questions about policy.
8) Booger McFarland on ESPN wanted people to “pray” for Hamlin -—but he himself didn’t lead any prayers. This is another sick irony of the broadcasters and ESPN: they want you to pray at moments like that, but would never admit that there is a God worth praying to. You know, just any deity will do. Hypocrisy.
Oh, wait, that won’t work. Never mind.
Yeah, I’m not awake yet.
That might be an option. I’ve also heard some discussion of a coin flip to decide the game or just going with a 16 game season for those two teams and deciding playoff seeding on win percentage.
I was wondering how long it would take for the tin foil hat brigade to spout off. Was not disappointed.
Will be interesting to see how it works out.
More than anything, the NFL is a money machine. If the game is not played, the NFL will need to make sure broadcasters, advertisers, fans, etc are made whole.
“ Yeah, I’m not awake yet”
But the NFL is woke. So I don’t care.
If the game is as unimportant as they say, the solution is easy. Bills forfeit. They were losing 7-3 at the time. The “coin-flip” was the 7-3 score.
Why not just flip a coin at NFL Headquarters? Oh yeah! Forgot! It's about the money!
“I could care less about the game. How’s the player?”
Ditto. I watched the short gif clip last night — the most football I’ve seen since college. But the player — if it was a result of the clot shot and he didn’t want to take it — tragedy.
I watched the hit. It was a good hit but nothing extra ordinary. Hundreds of harder hits happen every weekend. Was the player already having heart issues before the play?
It is about the money.
Am a big believer that getting back in a routine is important in these types of life events.
Bills’ McDermott frustrated by team’s low vaccination rate
Still wondering what did the NFL know and when did it know it about the safety and efficacy of CoupFlu vaxxes.
Don’t ask questions. Trust the “settled” science. Trust the government and everything will be fine.
Hospital states he is on life support. 9 minutes of CPR and now on life support.... Pray.
This game had tremendous playoff ramifications. Some team is going to get screwed over this. It’s a shame the guy probably had a vaxx episode but the game should have been played. We’ve seen guys carted off the field with broken necks but the game went on. Now we get the smarmy self congratulatory BS from the media, players and league about what caring individuals they all are. As they say, vaxx sh!t happens. Do we shut down the interstates the next time a trucker has a vaxx episode in a truck stop?
It was the timing and location of the hit.
Video of hit.. nothing special for the NFL.. he likely got hit 100’s of times similar to this
Bills’ Damar Hamlin, in critical condition after a hard collision and a sudden collapse
They are used to see broken bones and concussions. They aren’t used to seeing hearts not working right. When it took this much time to get the player off the field, you think you could get the other players heads back in the game? This was unprecedented in many ways.
The Bills and Bengals have not only dorked themselves with this decision, they have really messed up the AFC Playoff picture:

Because both teams are in the hunt for the top spot they have to play the game, which probably means playing in the off week after the end of the regular season.
While I wish Damar Hamlin the best and hope he has a full recovery, putting that aside this a popcorn eating event where “compassion” railroaded common sense.
