Ukraine war’s outlook in 2023: Harder fighting against a tougher Russian army
The Hill via msn ^

Posted on 01/02/2023 1:31:57 PM PST by RomanSoldier19

ll sides’ strategic incentives in the Ukraine War point toward continued conflict in 2023. The war’s settlement will emerge from the battlefield, not primarily from negotiations. Russia, meanwhile, is planning another offensive to solidify its territorial position and prepare for another year of war.

Every weapon that the West refrains from sending to Ukraine in the next two months will be regretted in the next six.

In addition, the notion of Russia’s absolute incompetence must be eliminated. No military is perfect, and Russian forces have their problems — but Western analysts are far too optimistic about Russia’s initial failures.

More Death, more war—lets hope it doesn’t pull us in and Poland too. The war will be decided on the battlefield. Outcomes? AS I see it: You may have your own opinion.
1. Zelnsky is tossed out and a new government in Kiev makes a peace with Putin.
2. Putin is out in Russia and new government makes peace with Zelensky.
3. Russia encircled Ukraine Army and forces it to surrender.
4. Ukraine encircles Russian Army and forces it to surrender.
5. Russia takes Kiev and Ukraine surrenders.
6. Ukraine takes Moscow and Russia surrenders.
7. US and NATO roll into Ukraine and kick Russians out.
8. China sends ten Million Troops and crushes Ukraine.
9. WW III—world splits into two camps—five years of misery and death—45 million die.

I think Number 5 is what will happen.

You know, I'm always open to logic and evidence... if you have any. People who post memes when they should be providing arguments to support their position are forfeiting.

The Ukraine war is due to the Western elites' arrogance in orchestrating the 2014 coup in Ukraine. They planned to bring it into NATO and spoke of planting nuclear missiles on the Russian border where they could not be intercepted, placing a boot on Russia's neck such that it would be forced to adopt a subservient position and accept endless Western demands. The separatist rebellion, the annexation of Crimea and now the general war are all a reaction to Western aggression. Change my mind.

“Who would you suggest establish the no fly zone?”

Israel’s new government is fed up with Zelensky, so it looks like countries are starting to figure this out.

"ThEy ShOuLd EsTaBlIsH a No-FlY zOnE" is right up there with "Russher should withdraw to the Febrerrary borders and give up Crimee-er!".

How did the British survive the blitz? Gonads, fortitude and determination. Same for the Ukrainians.

There could be peace tomorrow. All that needs to happen is for the Russkies to leave Ukraine.

That depends on what the meaning of Ukraine is. The Russkies are not going to voluntarily leave the Crimea and unless we intervene, the Ukraine doesn’t have the military strength to take it back.

I’ve been saying the same thing.

A place most people a year ago couldn’t have found on a map as big as a barn door. And now it’s the most important place on Earth while our country is flooded with Third World garbage.

Worthy of BILLIONS of our hard earned tax dollars.

And some twit here told that was a ‘’fourth grade argument’’.

Ukrainian bots are stinking up this place.

I think its just older NeoCons on this board who think the Ukraine war is their best bet to regain some moral high ground after decades of international disasters.

I’d say you’re right.

Everyday we’re losing this great nation to the AOC’s in Congress and this carrot in The White House. My heart is broken.

Nobody seems to have a solution so my advice is to sit back and watch the body count climb !

This BS could end tomorrow but the current administration wants / needs it to continue.

“......Who would you suggest establish the no fly zone?......”

NATO or volunteer countries under the UN. It has been done before.

Would you want America be part of this no fly zone, and where and when has NATO intervened in a similar manner?

“....Would you want America be part of this no fly zone, and where and when has NATO intervened in a similar manner? .....”

In my earlier response I gave you the URL link to an article that described the NATO no-fly zone in Kosovo.

That no fly zone acted as a buffer between Kosovo and Serbia.

The two buffer zones were established in 1999 as part of a deal that ended Nato’s bombing campaign against Yugoslavia.

Would I want the USA to establish the no-fly zone? Nope.

Do I think that the USA and NATO should establish a no fly zone? Possibly, as several NATO countries participated in the December 1994 Budapest, Hungary Memorandum to provide security assurances by its signatories relating to the accession of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, by agreeing to their territorial sovereignty. So Yes there is more of a reason for a no-fly zone than there was for Kosovo.

The Kosovo NATO intervention was for humanitarian reasons and to prevent huge number of refugees seeking sanctuary in the NATO EU countries.
