Expert panel deciding how much black Californians are owed include a professor who believes black Americans are owed $14 trillion

Others on the panel have said that economics is inherently racist and the plight of Native Americans are 'irrelevant' to payouts

The panel has calculated how much they believe black Californians are owed for racial injustices in the state A Reparations Task Force will now make its final report to the State Legislature at the end of June

The five economists who will determine just how much the state will pay black Californians for historic injustices include a professor who has called for nationwide reparations of up to $14trillion.

Other members of the expert panel advising California's Reparations Task Force on what they believe would be a fair amount repaid to the descendants of racial discrimination have said there is no such thing as a black middle class and argued the plight of Native Americans is 'irrelevant.'

Woke professors William Spriggs, Thomas Craemer, Kaycea Campbell, William A 'Sandy' Darity Jr and his wife, lecturer Kirstin Mullen, are charged with quantifying the past economic injustices African Americans faced and determining how much compensation black Californians should receive for those crimes.

...and add the last factor - what your wealth and standard of living would be if your slave ancestors had never come to America.

They paid the price, not anyone alive today. I’m from the UK, came here in the ‘80s. My ancestors were part of the Atlantic Ocean blockade against slave ships. ...but I’m white, so I should cough up right?

Same here! 1) Ithaca, New York (age 13). 2) Cleveland, Ohio (age 26), 3) Columbus, Ohio (age 30), 4) Palo Alto, CA (age 35).

Just to show some racial balance, I’ve also had a drunk Navy white guy try to pick a fight with me and a Swede at a party decided he wanted to fight me.

The first four were BLACK roughings up, sucker punches, and threatening shake-downs.

Our family wealth was stolen by communists invading Poland in 1945 and the family was left penniless. Where are MY reparations?

An “Expert panel.”

How about we convene an “Expert panel” of FReepers instead?

If it’s marked “paid in full”, $14 trillion is cheap.

Pay the man.

The inner cities in this country are a disaster. The dems in charge wanted them that way. They are dirty and dangerous. Law and order do not prevail. Hardly anyone has a legitimate job. Most get money from us, through the intermediary of the State.

This was planned and implemented by the left. This was done to provide a justification for “reparations.” “See how miserable they are?” “It’s your fault, Whitey that these people are on drugs, don’t work, and shoot each other up. You have to pay.”

So people who have never had slaves, including people whose ancestors never had slaves are going to be taxed to pay people who are assumed to be descended from slaves, including people who just have a darker skin shade.

If you’re a descendent of Europeans who never held slaves, you’re going to pay, just because your skin shade resembles that of the people who are accused of being slaveowners.

Worst part is how the public walks around whistling with its head up its sphincter. By Jove, I can’t understand how they can do that!

Which is 100% correct.

I think they should start with 1000 trillion for reparations. If you are going to go— go big. It does not matter how much they get. In 30 days the drug dealers will have it. By 60 days they will be back where they were and you can start over again. If the Government can give trillions to Ukraine, they should be able to spare a few trillion to help the local drug dealer out.

Color me surprised!

Who the HELL picked this biased bunch to to be the "experts to calculate that we owe them ANOTHER $14 trillion on top of the $20 trillion ALREADY PAID??!!

Shouldn't the people being shaken down get a say in this?

I cannot believe this is gaining any traction.

It’s a bit off-topic, but Trump was the best friend blacks could have had in the White House. Trump wanted to bring industry back to America. There would have been good-paying factory jobs in the inner cities once again. Urban blacks would have benefited greatly from that.

However, the Democrat Party would not have benefited. So of course Trump had to go.

Vote for reparations and leave. If white Californians vote for this absurdity, they should not be allowed to flee the state once it kicks in and it comes time to pay the piper for their virtue signaling because that is precisely what they will try to do. Borrow some of Texas governor Abbott’s shipping containers to line the eastern border of California to prevent the roaches from infesting other states

Better make a coin with Trump's face on it.

A $500 billion reparations package for blacks was part of his 2020 re-election strategy.

Remember his "Platinum Plan"?

...there is no such thing as a black middle class...

Why would there be? Many are stuck in government-built ghettos and receiving just enough food stamps to keep from starving. And there they will stay: dutifully reporting to vote Democrat at every election rather than dutifully completing an education and entering the middle-class workforce.

Why? Because, since LBJ, they have been fed a lie by the systemically racist Democrat party and wealthy college-educated black activist leeches that they have no hope. They have been fed this lie so long that it is now ingrained in their very culture. Those who do rise from the ghetto to finish their education and become successful are rarely the dispensers of hopelessness, but rather preach the truth that a good work ethic and an education can lead anyone to the middle-class and beyond. And it those same blacks that are belittled as "too white" and face being "cancelled" by their own people when they should be held up as the example for others to follow.

Rant/off

I’m guessing that the average inner-city black guy never heard about Trump’s plan to bring industry back to America. The mainstream media certainly never talked about it. And neither did any black mayors.

There are some exceptions, but black pastors are usually level-headed folks. They are the ones who could have gotten the message out. Pity that they didn’t.

I wonder if these clowns have thought about what happens when California’s hispanic citizens find out that the Dems are taxing them then giving their hard-earned money to blacks. Options:
Democrat Party collapses (happy result).
Fewer living blacks = less sponges, lower taxes (bloodbath coming up).
Fewer living advocates of reparations = less taxes.

2nd obvious question: What have these genious economists quantified as the offsetting cost of welfare, WIC, Medical, housing assistance, cost of crimes, cost of police/courts/incarceration, etc., etc., created by the black population in California since the 1840’s? I’m against collectivism (many/most of CA’s blacks might have added no cost at all). But they can’t have it both ways.
