The Israeli army carried out a missile strike on Damascus International Airport on Monday that killed four people, including two Syrian soldiers, according to a human rights monitor.
The attack — which occurred around 2:00 am (2300 GMT) — put the airport out of service, according to Syria’s state news agency SANA.
Israel carried out the strike with “barrages of missiles, targeting Damascus International Airport and its surroundings”, a military source told SANA, which reported that two Syrian soldiers were killed.

Israeli airstrike on the horizon? New Damascus air defenses activated
Syria probably knew in advance of this strike it would occur, and Israel knew it would strike a month ago.
No more secrets in the world, at least govt to govt. We still are somewhat left in the dark.
We are watching a movie. Good movies require Great actors.
I like Syria more than ISIS. One of the few times the left here in the USA seems to agree with Israel is on Syria.
Ping
Funny how Israelis only strike at Syrians, never at ISIS.
Nice!
Thanks for the ping!
End Times Ping and hat tip to C210N for the heads up!
Isaiah 17:1 in play?
Pray for Israel!
Thank you, Roman!
I like that Assad is a secular Muslim who protects the Christian minority. As did Saddam Hussein. If Assad falls (as did Hussein), things will get very bad for the Christians.
Kadhafi's downfall also harmed Christian Europe, as he had been a barrier between African migrants and Europe.
Neocon and Israeli military activities haven't been too beneficial for Christians or Europeans.
Christians in Egypt also got hammered after obummer’s Arab Spring
sort of makes a person think that The War is against Christianity
It always was, and always will be. What is Evil against what is good..
Ha, no.
Not saying you’re not right in general.
But, no, this was “ad lib”, if it’s part of a show.
Gosh, I guess the Chinese and Nork copy of Russian equipment — while stuffed with western tech available on the commercial market — still sucks.
[article:] The airport is in a region southeast of Damascus where Iran-backed groups, including Hezbollah, regularly operate. The last time the airport was out of service was in June 2022 — also after an Israeli missile strike. The runway, control tower, three hangars, warehouses and reception rooms were badly damaged in that attack — forcing the airport to close for about two weeks and flights to be suspended. Just as in Monday’s attack, the Observatory said at the time that the strikes had targeted nearby warehouses used as weapons depots by Iran and Hezbollah.Neocon and Israeli military activities haven't been too beneficial for Christians or Europeans.
Meaning Iran is? That Christians in Israel are (mis) treated like as Iran does in scope and degree, while Israel is surrounded by enemies? But Assad seems to be the lesser of two evils, yet friends of evil Iran.
“that Assad is a secular Muslim who protects the Christian minority“
Maybe the lesser of evils, compared to ISIS, but Assad is no friend:
“ Targeting Christian Places of Worship in Syria
63% have been targeted by government’s forces”

Or just ask:
The Christian resident of Yabroud in Syria. Oh wait, you can’t. Assad killed them all.
Or:
Bassel Shehaddeh
Khalil Maatouk
It’s a strange protector of Christians who nurtures and shelters their worst enemies against the will of the entire world. Assad did that, too — starting in 2003, his intelligence services worked closely with the terrorist fanatics who would eventually form ISIS because he wanted to prevent America from stabilizing Iraq.
There are no good sides in Syria, including so-called Christians there. They’re often just as crazy as everyone else, and would happily kill you, regardless of your religion.
It’s tribal warfare, not religious or nation state.
Looks like these Syrians were treated to a different type of Damascus Rd. Experience.
Meaning there are no good state actors in the Middle East.
I find it strange that people here, mostly Americans, have no trouble attacking the U.S. for all its misdeeds and degeneracies. I do it too, a lot. But when Israel is criticized, that's taboo.
Well, I have posted that Israel is inviting Divine judgement for affirming homosexual relations, but the reason you see defense of Israel by many conservatives is much due to Israel existing as basically the only friend of the US, with the same enemy as the US, which overall would be happy to see it obliterated, as would the UN, and besides that evangelical Christians (mainly) have a special affection for the Jewish people due to their Scriptural heritage. Thus there is a reaction of protection when Israel is criticized as it usually is be enemies.
Yet this does not mean we are to turn a blind eye to its Israels own faults. Much less our own.
Israel has fought Isis in Gaza. They are dealing with Hizbullah in Lebanon and Syria.
The Israelis routinely attack Syrian army that is engaged against actual ISIS. Isis is not in Gaza. That is PLO and others.
When Israelis bomb Syrian government forces, ISIS cheers.
