The UN secretary-general said that nuclear war is "back within the realm of possibility" following Russia's warning earlier this year it was putting its nuclear forces on alert amid its war in Ukraine, which threatens to draw NATO into direct combat with Russia. Since then, nuclear threats have continued to raise concerns a nuclear weapon could be used in a conflict for the first time in decades.

“While the Russians and probably china could certainly take down the power grid...”

Hell, small bands of trained marksmen could take down the grid.

“Many if not most urban areas have high-value military targets in close proximity.”

Chicago has zip, zero, nada millitary targets of any kind. It is utterly useless from that standpoint...as well as any other.

Not Frisco.

I am downwind. Sacramento is better as all of the political trash hangs out there, including the Guv’na.

Just to make sure, hit DC with let’s say 5 or 6 nukes.

Cannot take any chances a rat will escape

I would suggest you are confusing the current administration with the USA.

We might be on that path to be sure.

You have to go to the original article from 2917, linked to at the ended of the article. It is a POS, listing only about 20 targets, and only those with forces or command & control facilities. Russia has 6,500 strategic nukes (that they admit to, that is), so there will be vastly more targets.

Oh, and this POS article doesn’t even blink an eye at Putin’s claim that they have no first strike plan, nor does it mention either a preliminary EMP strike to completely disrupt our communications with our subs or their new 100 MT sub-killer weapon. Russia has been actively developing advanced nuclear war-fighting systems and plans, while we have been sitting around and doing literally nothing to upgrade our arsenal.

The Globalists think that through their coordinated efforts that they will take over the Western world and impose some sort of fuedal fascism and reduce the propulation to roughly 10% of today’s numbers. The )have been planning this for over 50 years. The moment the CCP figures that the WEF et al are within range of success the CCP will step in and take charge. Then the purges will start. First to go will be anyone capable of leading opposition, followed immediatley by the oligarchs. The CCP won’t need them and they are capable of trouble. They will be adiosed. Undoubtedly the WEF feels they have an ally in the CCP. They will quickly find out that in the CCP allies are of only momentary convience.

I doubt Biden has plans to launch first.

I doubt Biden has any plans at all. Other people are running the show, and Slow Joe just says what he's told to say (for the most part) and signs what he's told to sign.

Helluva way to run a 'democracy'.

Cobalt is not radioactive until the nuke goes off. It’s supposedly a salted bomb.

Not discussed in these articles is any effect from “fraternization” i.e., other nukes destroying or muting the effect of nearby blasts. I don’t know if any testing has been done in that area or if they are so shielded to mute any impact.

When we had the Nike air defense system, last line of defense to a missile was to detonate one of the anti aircraft missiles ahead of the incoming missile. Of course what is the difference between an incoming commie nuke and our air defense nuke rocket blasting it out of the sky....about 40000 feet and about 10% (40kt verses 400KT) from what I was told.

I disagree. The only testing done that I’m aware of was done with so many constraints that it wasn’t accurate. Theoretically, it would be be utterly catastrophic, and the military is quietly hardening their devices against it. It also would have to be done with a modified nuke that could sit in orbit before being used so not only would it not be immediately obvious who did it, it would be hard to determine who did it period.
