Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is starting the new year making very clear whose side he is on–and it is not Republican voters. After betraying the incoming GOP House majority by negotiating a $1.7 trillion omnibus funding bill in the lame duck Congress last month to deny House Republicans the chance to control federal spending this year, McConnell is set to host Joe Biden in Kentucky on Wednesday at a “bipartisan” celebration of Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill passed in 2021 with help from McConnell.
NBC News was first to report on the McConnell-Biden event which will highlight a $1.6 billion bridge replacement project, funded by the infrastructure bill, to replace the Brent Spence Bridge connecting Ohio and Kentucky. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) are also expected to attend the event.
....snip.....
November 2021, McConnell defended his support of Biden’s infrastructure bill in response to criticism by President Trump (excerpt via Business Insider):
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is doubling down on his support for the infrastructure bill despite criticism from former President Donald Trump.
Speaking to The Washington Post on November 16, McConnell reiterated his support for the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, saying he was “proud” of his vote.
“I watched each of the two previous administrations struggle with the issue of how to meet the infrastructure needs of the country,” McConnell said. “I joined 18 other Senate Republicans feeling like now is the time to address it.”

It’s a movie we’ve already seen over and over. Can McConnell explain where the money went on previous infrastructure bills? How much of that was spent in KY during obozo’s time?
How much does the news dedicate to the PROBLEM of infrastructure? ZIP - ZERO - ZILCH.....What problems is the country facing now in crisis mode? Not infrastructure for sure.
EXCEPTION: How about the electrical grid, Mitch? When does that get much needed attention?

McConnell is the poster child for the need to constitutionally reform the Senate through an Article V Convention of the State.
An Art. V convention will just make things worse. Each state will send delegates. The legislatures will select people just like them. Imagine the delegates states like CA, MD, NY, HI, and MA will send. Crazed commies and BLM’ers. Then the Republican states will send RINO squishes who will be terrorized by the media and the crazed mobs and just cave.
I would invite Joe to an all girls nursery school - with 100s of them.
Tell them to all wash their hair to be pretty for Joe.
Do you think maybe Joe would blow his gasket? Permanently?
Play date with CCP playmates?
how to meet the infrastructure needs of the country,”
= = =
How about the states meet their needs?
Or the counties
Or the towns?
I meet my own infrastructure needs, Patio, car port, garage. Not real neat, but secure and functional.
On that note, I saw the service garage for a Forest Service facility. That thing was TOP TIER! Always fresh paint, new roof, latest shop equipment, I was real jealous. And actually it IS mine, but will I ever have access?????
(I’ll bet the FS employees do . . . you know, their Jeep, RV, we just have to keep busy waiting for a fire to break out.
Seppuku.
Exactly. Article.V would give if more of what we have. I do not know if there is a solution to this that does not involve lots, and lots of bloodshed. Not advocating, just observing.
scumbag McConnell fighting for the American people I spit in his general direction
R voters seem to think they can defy insanity (voting for the same ole bunch over and over expecting a different result).
The people of KY have voted this idiot into office over and over.
I said they NEED to, not that they will.
“Mitch is actually participating in a campaign rally for Biden. Treasonous prick doesn’t begin to describe this bastard.”
He’s beholden to the ChiComs. I can’t stand the SOB.
A lot of them are, no doubt about it.
Good luck with that idea...won’t happen.
“Team Mitch” is abhorrent. He needs to be deposed or better yet, indicted with the rest of the scum in Dc.
It’s all about Kentucky and his legacy to this putz. He doesn’t GAS about Kentuckians per se, just how much regard they’ll hold him in…or rather how much money he can expect to siphon off from their leaders until he leaves this earth. He’s following Robert Byrd’s playbook.
Celebrate at Machus Red Fox.
Closet homo, another Hastert. Kicked out of the Army Reserve for that.
“The senate GOP needs to dump this guy.”
Didn’t they just vote by a very wide margin to keep McConnell and roundly rejected Trump’s choice, Sen. Scott?
I could care less about mcbenedicts tax returns, I want to see his tax free foreign accounts!
“Didn’t they just vote by a very wide margin to keep McConnell and roundly rejected Trump’s choice, Sen. Scott?”
Did they? I hadn’t heard. I’m not surprised though. The GOP have a political death wish.
