A 32-year-old woman is being held without bail after allegedly shoving a 3-year-old girl off a Northeast Portland MAX station platform and onto the train tracks Wednesday, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office said.
A male bystander quickly rescued the child, who reported a severe headache and had a small red mark on her forehead, the district attorney’s office said.
Brianna Lace Workman, 32, was arraigned Thursday in Multnomah County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree attempted assault, a felony, and third-degree assault, interfering with public transportation, second-degree disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and harassment, misdemeanors, court records show.
Workman is listed as homeless and living in Portland, according to court records.
Workman is accused of shoving the child, who was waiting with her mother at the Gateway Transit Center on Wednesday. The girl, who was not publicly identified, landed face-first on the metal rail and rocks before being rescued from the train tracks, the district attorney’s office said.

Yeah, seal it off and put Lee van Cleef in charge of it!
Regards,
No bail, in OREGON? I thought even brazen murderers in that state got “no cash bail” as a matter of course.
This sets a very bad precedent in the “new way” that Oregon is now pursuing. Next thing you know, there will be some actual prosecutions, and not merely persecutions for having “wrong” political views.
When men commit violence that seems to be random and non-sexual, we tend to call it mental illness. And I’ve heard a LOT of women denounced as “evil” on Free Republic.
Put her in a facility and give her all the drugs that she wants until she expires. It will be a lot cheaper than putting her in prison so she canive off the taxpayers.
There are no facilities.
————————————-
They closed the mental institutions down starting in the 1970’s.
Those mentally ill people were free to roam and bred.
Crazy people seldom have sane offspring.
As my grandmother would say “ You don’t bred a crooked legged cow”.
There are some people who really deserve a trip to the wood chipper.
Yep, might as well just build walls around certain cities and call them facilities.
When is the next train? We can take care of this right here and now.
I admire your wife.
This happened in Portland a clone of Seattle or visa versa. Remember there are very few males under the age of 40 in this area that has “toxic masculinity”, that has been taken care of by the administration/groomers in the public elementary schools with their psychotropic drugs and their war declaration against boys.
Listen to the audio link that succeeds this paragraph, let your wife listen too, about this sad issue concerning the feminization of boys and how it’s manifested here behind the blue curtain in the Pacific Northwest.

The facility shown in post #7, above, would work very nicely.
Refresh my memory. That was under Reagan’s watch?
Let's try to have a serious discussion.
In 1955, my state of New Hampshire had 6000 beds for mentally ill people. Today, we have 135.
And in case you don't get out much, there are a hell of a lot more crazy people now than there were in 1955.
We are nowhere near San Francisco level madness in public, but our hospital ERs and jails are close to bursting with madness.
Failure to plan is planning to fail.
“Gov. Reagan signed the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act in 1967, all but ending the practice of institutionalizing patients against their will. When deinstitutionalization began 50 years ago, California mistakenly relied on community treatment facilities, which were never built.”

Who made you eat bugs?
There are more nooses found than people who actually know how to tie them. Yet I agree the chic needs to swing.
I admit that I have no clue how to make a noose.
and so do I. My husband would have done that in a flash.
I would say it was the COURTS, not Reagan, as they sided with the ACLU which ended up with asylums for the mentally ill closed down. Now you can’t hold someone without their own permission unless provably a danger to themselves or others. And generally you can’t prove that until after they’ve done something.
Closing down mental institutions made the situation worse for everyone involved.
They have built a whole system around personal medical care, outpatient responsibility on taking their meds and the fact that they live on the streets leaves that much more money they can spend elsewhere or put in their pockets. Charlene deblasio “new york mayor” and her mental illness initiative is missing 800 million dollars as an example
