Details are continuing to emerge regarding the man accused of brutally stabbing four young Moscow, Idaho college students last month, with the suspect’s arrest this week leading to a flood of news reports on the alleged killer’s background.

Bryan Kohberger was arrested at his parents’ house in Pennsylvania this week and charged with the murder of the four students, Kaylee Goncalves, Maddie Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.

News reports revealed that Kohberger, a criminology PhD student at the University of Washington, was allegedly linked to the crime scene via a DNA sample fed into a genetic genealogy database.

Law enforcement reportedly tracked him closely as he drove cross-country from Washington to his parents’ home in Pennsylvania.

The suspect was also reportedly a security guard several years ago at Pleasant Valley School District near Allentown, Pa., before enrolling at the University of Washington.

Apparently, his father traveled (flew?) out to Idaho and the two drove the car back to PA together.

I was wondering about the aiding and abetting by the family too. Certainly hiding him PA

The skinned dog had been eliminated weeks ago. It was not connected to the case. Yeah…it’s creepy and weird…but not related to the murders.

Criminology student who didn’t know his DNA was accessible due to his own prior actions?

And the cops don’t look so dumb now, do they?

I don’t think he was planning on leaving that much of his own blood behind.

That only applies if the father knew what happened. I doubt there is any proof of that.

My wife flew to NM to drive my daughter back when she broke up with her boyfriend.

Oh, I am not implying that; on the contrary, I believe his folks were utterly oblivious.

I should have been more clear. I was talking about his DNA being on record due to him giving it to an ancestry site. At least I think that’s what the article was trying to say.

We ALL really know nothing. Maybe he was driving out and about and just threw an empty beer can out the window... with DNA on it.

"If they tracked him closely he must have discarded the murder weapon immediately after the carnage. I would check local dumpsters and POSSIBLY where those dumpsters were emptied, along with local brush/bush locations. Monumental task and they’ll probably never find the knife."

There are still a lot of unknowns out there, but there seem to be some pretty valid news items regarding his near obsessive vegetarianism. Two of the victims worked at one of the best known vegan restaurants in the area.

Assuming this is how the victims came to be known to him, this was likely a fixation/obsession killing, and if that's accurate, then the weapon was more than that...it was his means of taking control and possession of his target(s)...and if that's the case it was a substitute for his, um, manhood.

Purely speculation on my part, but if correct, he may have been a lot less prone to dispose of the knife than somebody who stabbed somebody in a mugging or typical street assault.

The male incel - female look but don’t touch dynamic gets worse and worse. That’s a generalization, I have no idea about the particular facts of this case.

I grew up and went to college when there were rules. Now, there are none.

Living contrary to human nature is driving people crazy.

Yup. If he were being closely followed, attempting to cross the border might have resulted in his detention.

Yeah, the term ‘criminally insane’ may apply here.

Initially it reads like a psycho who went into criminal psychiatry to plan the perfect crime. Not a first.

But...

Why did he 'overkill' the one girl.

This creep is an incel, mommy issues, used college to deflect getting a job, was coming to the end of that road with his PhD pending, and he would have had to get a GA or non-tenure jerb teaching classes full of Kaylees.

Just put this jailbait in general population. Buh bye.

= = =

He went back to class till the semester ended. Lots of time and places to dump the knife. When did they start tracking? If immediately, they had him on the radar before he left. The didn’t search his room and take evidence till after the arrest. Did they search it secretly before that? A public search would have alerted the whole community.

I am going to say they didn’t track him real time. Maybe went back to videos along his route to piece it together after they got any DNA, then vehicle registration....
