A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Pennsylvania in connection with the stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students whose bodies were found in a rental home near campus last month, multiple law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation said Friday.
It marks the first major break in a case that has both captivated and mystified the globe.
The sources said the man was apprehended in the Scranton area Friday morning. Authorities are expected to hold a news conference on the case later Friday.
Few details have been released publicly in the gruesome Nov. 13 slayings of 21-year-olds Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, and 20-year-olds Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. The four friends, members of the university’s Greek system, were discovered across the street from campus, leaving the small town of Moscow, Idaho, deeply shaken. Relatively few details have been released about the homicides, intensifying the mystery.
The Moscow Police Department has said it was working through nearly 12,000 tips in an effort to solve the case.
At the beginning of the press conference Chief Fry said Idaho state law and Supreme Court rulings prevent him from releasing any information and all information will come from court documents. But the press ALWAYS persists asking questions that they know he is unable to answer. I suppose they are looking for him to make one slip-up so they can run with that tiny bit of news.
Worst of all, sloppy gets the case dismissed by the judge and the defendant set free.
This guy must be an imbecile.
No death penalty in Washington. 100% certainty this guy will die in Idaho!
Maybe he was going to write his dissertation on the "unsolved" murders?
WFLA Tampa reporter says his DNA was at murder house.
Said reporter also said FBI team out of Philly was tracking him for last four days or so. https://twitter.com/WFLAJosh/status/1608927793466998786
Josh Benson. UPDATES: Kohberger’s DNA has also been matched to genetic material recovered at the off-campus house where the students were stabbed to death, according to the sources. An FBI team from Philadelphia has been tracking him for four days in the area where he was arrested. #Idaho4
From:Amanda and Melissa Kohberger Effort, Pennsylvania As we were coming home from the store, my sister Melissa pointed out a roundish ball of light. No, it was not the sun. We really think it was a UFO. My sister was so freaked out! She is scarred of every thing! So it must have been scarry for her! Although she says she is not and she was very interested in it. So was I. I wish I had a camara with me. Who knew we were going to see a UFO. I don’t look for these things.

How long have they been looking at this guy? They are claiming they can match DNA at the crime scene, pretty fast comparison, unlike TV, it takes a little time to do that so when was this comparison done? When did they obtain a DNA sample of this guy to compare it to? Lots of questions here.
It also might turn out he did not know these people at all and possibly picked them at random.
much more informative that the original post ...
There could also be other victims from anywhere he was at.
“When did they obtain a DNA sample of this guy to compare it to?”
it’s pretty obvious that was why the FBI was surveilling this guy for five days before they arrested him, namely to snag a DNA sample via a tossed fast food container or similar ... cops do that all the time ...
AND DNA matching is orders of magnitude faster than in the olden days because many State police, the Feds and many major cities now have modern DNA processing equipment ...
and given that the FBI was involved, they probably had a match done in hours after the comparison sample was obtained ...probably flew it to their main DNA lab on one of their jets ...
Exactly. After they traced and located the Elantra it was a matter of matching DNA and nailing down other evidence. I expect they’ll get decent evidence from the car.
Chief Fry did say the murder weapon has NOT yet been located.
I’ll go out on a limb and say this guy could have skinned that dog several weeks ago.....I suspect he does have other human crimes as well....

“Or he could have gone to Boise and flown out on an airplane.”
Apparently they also have that white car they caught on a security camera in Moscow. It was found where he was staying in PA.

Stabbings often injure the stabber. The knife’s sharp edges know no owner. Perp’s going to have some injuries.
All the FIB need do is ask the MANY public DNA/Geneology services to run the DNA found at the scene to their databases. Hell, the FIB probably has DIRECT ACCESS to these companies databases!
BOOM, DONE! No DNA from subject immediately necessary because it's all about HIS FAMILY'S DNA.
