Thank you for this beautiful story/post!!
Do not forget to entertain strangers.
How many white people help black people every day and never have a story written about them?
This story is yet another propaganda piece to make black people look superior. Leftist writers constantly pick and choose what they write about so as to show a very bias and racist view of the world. It is not only what they show us but what they ignore that shows their racism.
These are extraordinary circumstances, so of course it makes the news. There are heroes, white and black, all over this country and I’ve seen tons of stories about both. Ms. Aughtry and her boyfriend saved this mans life. That makes them caring, compassionate individuals, not “superior”.
Just as an aside, this lady lives in the same city that suffered a nasty racial attack against innocent black shoppers in a grocery store.
I agree with what you wrote about the lady in the story. My comments were about leftist writers and their purposeful choices to write about certain topics and ignore others so as to support a certain viewpoint only.

“...White, who is mentally disabled...”
I am wondering what the problem is here? What could it be?
There was a time, no too long ago, when these type of individuals would be cared for in an institution (like Creedmoor) but democrat policies and activist judges forced those institutions to close up, and throw the indigent’s into the street. This is the result.
The liberal elitist racist don’t like this
What a horrible take on a genuinely nice story.
This woman is a saint. I wish there were more like her. All we hear about are the bad folks.
Screwtape responds cautioning Wormwood to temper his excitement because, while war would bring about those ruinous things Wormwood was looking forward to, it would also give rise to examples of sacrifice, heroism, courage and compassion that would only ever arise in times of adversity.
I'm reminded of this passage when contrasting this story to the accounts of the deaths, looting, etc. we have been getting from Buffalo...
The real world does not stop happening when good stories happen in parallel. If more people would wake up and understand the nefarious nature of information warfare by leftists in the media, I would not have the need to have such a “horrible take”.
Is anybody going to make fun of her name or skin color?
I mean when the story is about a criminal, it is fair game, but when about a good person, they move on.
She’s black, with a funny name. Thank you God for sweet dear people, Thank God for her and her man choosing love and kindness this day, selflessly.
Thank Hod for idiots having another day, another opportunity, to repent and follow in these two good peoples’ footsteps. May God help me repent of my selfish ways too.
You are still a shitty person.
Saw it, thank you.
There are a bunch of stories like that floating around. Of course, it’s drowned out by the looting stories.
It’s in the 50’s here now, with rain in the forecast. Roads are wide open, power’s back to 100%. In many areas, this snow may be totally gone by Monday.
Many lessons to be learned. After action report forthcoming.
I read that Buffalo is worried about flooding, now that the temperature has shot up. Stay safe!
So true... Amen.
The closing of institutions is a problem. But, in this case, this man is “special needs,” and he lives in a group home, and he has a job.
Imagine how much better the world would be if the rotten media would focus more on this type of story, instead of constantly trying to find ways to turn people against one another.
The woman in the article might want to consider running for some type of public office.
Good people like her are who are needed to turn this country around.
What a truly wonderful woman, and her boyfriend. God bless them in every way for their acts of kindness.
