To: Tired of Taxes
There is an exchange in CS Lewis' "Screwtape Letters," where the junior demon Wormwood giddily writes his uncle Screwtape, reporting that war was about to break out on earth and how wonderful all the chaos, death, and carnage were going to be.

Screwtape responds cautioning Wormwood to temper his excitement because, while war would bring about those ruinous things Wormwood was looking forward to, it would also give rise to examples of sacrifice, heroism, courage and compassion that would only ever arise in times of adversity.

I'm reminded of this passage when contrasting this story to the accounts of the deaths, looting, etc. we have been getting from Buffalo...
