Last Christmas? Oops — we meant merry Christmas!
A UK doctor’s office texted thousands of patients startling news that they were dying of “aggressive lung cancer” — when they’d just meant to wish them “a very merry Christmas.”
Askern Medical Practice in Doncaster sent the automated text on Friday, two days before Christmas, warning of “diagnosis — Aggressive lung cancer with metastases,” the BBC said.
It asked patients to fill out a form that allows people with terminal illnesses to claim benefits, leaving many who got it in tears.
But within the hour, the surgery sent a follow-up offering “sincere apologies for the previous text message sent.”
“Our message to you should have read, ‘We wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year,'” it read, according to a screenshot.

something similar happened with one of my Doctors office. They somehow sent out info on a patient to a wide distribution list either via text or email.. I can’t remember the details of exactly what happened but they later apologized.

The patients who received the cancer message deserve an explanation of wHO exactly screwed this up, with picture, address, and phone number, and what is being done to them beyond immediate firing/physical ejection from the building. The UK loves to go after thought criminals; the perpetrator needs to be investigated for doing this out of anti-Christian animus, and hatred of the “Merry Christmas” message.
Sure it is, if you are a wino or a druggie who has run out of enablers. The government can be your enabler.
Ditto if you are a mentally ill, gender confused sexual deviant. Or a professional hypochondriac.
Same person, at dinner, meant to say “Pass the salt” but instead said “You ruined my life, you bitch!”
So sorry about that message saying you have cancer.
It should have included our generous offer of assisted suicide and our most sincere wishes that you have a very Merry Christmas.
