Russia's war against Ukraine should "culminate" by the summer of 2023
Retired Major John Spencer told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Georgian service that he doesn't share the opinion that the war will last for years, due to Ukraine's strength on the battlefield and support from Western allies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's initial strategy of overtaking Kyiv in April was a failure, Spencer said, followed by another unsuccessful attempt to alienate Ukrainian allies. Russia's continued attacks on critical Ukrainian infrastructure to literally "freeze" Ukraine and its people are "futile," he said.
"I think it's clear that Putin is not going to let his own intentions go. He doesn't care how many Russian soldiers will die," Spencer said. "But the Russian Army is in trouble, very big trouble. Putin wants to slow down the war. He needs time to give at least a little military training to the thousands of people who were forced into military service.
"At this point, I don't see any direction in which the Russian Army can advance. Their only goal is to keep what they've captured and I think they won't succeed, either."
Hilary Appel, government professor at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California, told Newsweek that Russia has other options for military support, such as Iran and North Korea. Iran's drones are having a significant impact on the war, she said, on the battlefield and on the calculations of other countries such as Israel, which has shown restraint because of its own strategic considerations.
"The first few days in February 2022 failed to achieve the downfall of the Zelensky regime, as hoped for by the Russian government,"
"But the Russian military's poor logistics and an ineffective command structure, combined with the well-trained and highly motivated Ukrainian troops, succeeded in stopping the advance and de-occupying captured territory."

Russia’s just playing 4-D chess.
Like Trump.
I got the last 10 minutes of Wilkow Majority on SiriusXM on Monday 12-26-2022.
Col. Ollie North was the last guest. I wanted to hear his whole interview. So I tried the web.
Can’t find 12-26 on Wilkow’s site. Maybe it was a rerun, or maybe his last show before the guest host on 12-27 and it hasn’t been posted???
I don’t believe anyone either. (Would that be everyone if using preferred pronouns?) But would like to hear Col. North.
I’ll keep trying.
Oh, I did catch Lindsey Graham saying “We’re in it to win it.” I do believe he believes that.
Has any politician and/or talking head ever gone away after being proven to be wrong ? I mean that as an honest question because I can’t think of one that went away after their predictions went belly up
Another massive ( largest to date) Russian missile attack, targeting electrical grid and Air Defense systems….yeah, the Russians are in trouble….right.
I am in awe on how the western media spews such garbage expecting the sheeple to believe it. Non western news has video, accounts, and social media showing the widespread darkness and destruction. Didn’t anyone learn from Trump about the fake western news?
“Putin has 13 fatal diseases and Russia is out of missiles for the 23rd time.”
Only Tsar wannabe Putin wanted this war. Putin is dull, stupid and low energy. Putin will be dead or deposed by March 2023. There are younger men vying to take his place. Putin’s is bad for business. The very profitable Russian business of selling gas and oil to Europe and the world.
“Like at the Center of Planet Uranus: How Materials Behave Under Extreme Pressure”
Let me guess, they’re out of missiles...yet again.

Biden is sending a C-5 full of Ex-Lax. And his recommended Depends.
“Biden is sending a C-5 full of Ex-Lax. And his recommended Depends.”
LOL. But yea, I screw up my paste from a different article.
Russia had the industrial might of the Americans behind them against Hitler. I don’t think Iran is helping that much.
All of the references to WWII are amusing. Not relevant. But amusing.
I know a bunch of retired military officers. I don’t know any of them under the rank of Full colonel who use their retired rank outside of the VA or USAA. Lol.
I never did in the first place.
Russian gas and oil have a better future outlook with Asia and others.
There will be repercussions for the US flipping the SWIFT switch.
The Europeans keep going green and bringing in third world immigrant trash.
2023 is going to be a ugly year in numerous ways.
I hope I’m wrong.
You’re right, they never go away in shame.
Look the 50+ former intelligence professionals who said Hunter Biden’s laptop was a Russian Disinformation, how many of them have apologized ?? ZERO and they never will.
Has anyone from Fauci on down apologized for getting Covid completely wrong and lying about, costing millions of lives and destroying the economic future of millions more...NO.
You can go on and on about the government liars and they never apologize or suffer any consequences.
I guess my original question was rhetorical.

Clever Meme!
LOL, that’s one of the finest FR comprehensive trolls I’ve ever seen...kudos.
I never did.
Unfortunately, America doesn’t have the ‘industrial might of the Americans’ anymore. America, and the West, have given our ‘industrial might’ to PRC, the People’s Republic of China, not Politically Repressive Canada, in this case.
If Ukraine were winning, we'd see more visual evidence on TV and social media. Battle victories, celebrations, cheering crowds, etc.
We don't see any of this.
We're being lied to.
Where is Bettle Bailey when you need him?
We seem to make pretty good arms.
We can’t seem to make a telephone or TV…but they make good missiles right down the road from me.
