..on private/government airplanes.

That's what these lefties are all about, using the government for their lavish lifestyles, pay for nothing, spend our money, and tell others what to do. They are horrible people. Hell for them would be getting a real job where they had to show up and work.

"I can’t blame Southwest ... The weather rules airtravel..."

.

But did Southwest use their Weather Modification Apparatus properly? Hmmmm?

No, they did NOT!

I can’t blame Southwest. What did people want? The weather rules airtravel. What did they want accidents all over the place?

84% of cancellations up through Christmas Day were Southwest Airlines.

Since then, almost all cancellations have been Southwest Airlines.

Try again.

American, Delta, United and others didn't have anywhere near the issues Southwest did.

There's something fundamentally wrong with how Southwest runs and by their own admission, their back-end systems are a shitshow.

As a frequent Southwest Airlines flyer myself (they've been my #1 choice for years) I'm taking a very hard look at whether or not I'll continue using them going forward after this.

And BTW: I flew over last Memorial Day Weekend and my luggage was lost for over a week. I thought that the mountains of luggage back then were bad, they were molehills compared to Southwest's fiasco.

I’ve seen numerous articles on the SW airlines cancellations and the attendant traveler problems.

But, I’ve yet to see any decent explanation for it. Weather? Equipment failures, Lack of de-ice capacity? Pilot shortages? Combination of all above?

Why uniquely a SW problem?

If that DOE queer Sam Brinton had managed to control his kleptomania for just one month, he would have hit the jackpot. Acres and acres of lost luggage in every airport...

SkyMAX software and people who didn't show up for work.

Alfred E Neumann in a real life form. Couldn’t do his job as mayor and now he’s going to solve a business crisis.

Southwest is a dead company walking.

Yep. Cancelled what, 85% of their flights yesterday? This isn't recoverable for them. When other airlines cap their fares to "assist" Southwest Airlines passengers to get home, that's a great PR stunt AND it drives a nail in Southwest's coffin. My girlfriends daughter flew in from DC on Southwest Airlines Thursday the 22nd. Her flight was rescheduled 7 times and she barely made it out. All flights after hers were cancelled.

Her flight home on the 26th via Southwest was cancelled right as my gf got her to the airport. I caught it and told them. The lines at the airport of Southwest passengers trying to rebook were huge.

We ended up getting her a flight back on the 27th via American Airlines, cost over $1,000 (pre American saying they'd cap fares.) She had to get back to work in DC so there was no other option other than to pay the fare.

Told her to file a claim for her cancelled flight and having to rebook on American but to not expect seeing a penny after watching this entire shitshow unfold.

“I can’t blame Southwest.”

Too soon to reach a conclusion on that. They fared worse than other airlines. They’re accused of having inadequate computer systems.

Hopefully we’ll eventually get a technical explanation.

Welcome Southwest to the woke assault. Usually happens to anyone who is successful the good old fashion way. Don’t worry. We know the truth!

Their systems were swamped when all their employees at the same time went to purchase “Wanna Get Away” tickets.

“I can’t blame Southwest. What did people want? The weather rules airtravel. What did they want accidents all over the place?”

I can’t blame ANY prudent airline or pilot who considers flying in a raging storm dangerous and remains on the ground.

Buttigieg’s assessment is a fool’s opinion. He needs to apologize to the industry. The industry including the unions need to castigate Buttigieg and the agency he is responsible for. This is not leadership.

Chicago’s Midway and Newark Airports slowed down really early due to de ice delays. Theses airports are footprint limited when snowplowing starts and always are the first to fall behind. Chicago Midway is a northern Node for Southwest and whenever it gets shut down most of southwest stops. Add that ice was affecting the mid south and you have hit most of southwests flight volume. The network collasped, the pilots hit there regulated duty hour limit and equipment was out of place. It is a snowstorm, if it were not a xmas/new years week with little happening in DC, it would not be a national emergency. If the other airlines would have had the empty seats of mid February outside of a few hubs nobody would have noticed.

There is nothing to do except demolish a few square miles of the Chicago west side for more runways or build the airport that everyone have been asking 30 years out past Joliet.

Pilot called in to Alex Jones’ show yesterday, but I am sure you only accept official government propaganda sources even though everything Jones has said for the past 28 years has come to pass.

So go ahead and smear Alex Jones and move on.

Before he trashes the aiine, Buttigieg should identify the flights that did not have to be canceled because of the weather.
