The incoming Democratic governor of Arizona filed legal papers in Maricopa County's Superior Court of Arizona seeking sanctions against her Republican rival Kari Lake and Lake's lawyers for making false claims about a stolen election in the state's most populous county in her lawsuit alleging election fraud.
"She has not simply failed to publicly acknowledge the election results," Katie Hobbs wrote in the filing, according to the Washington Examiner. Lake has "filed a groundless, seventy-page election contest lawsuit against the governor-elect, the secretary of state, and Maricopa County and several of its elected officials and employees," what Hobbs termed a "frivolous pursuit."
Maricopa County Deputy Attorney Thomas Liddy said Lake was fundraising off her false claims about election fraud and using the courts to "harass political opponents and sow completely unfounded doubts about the integrity of elections," the Examiner reported.

Groundless claims you say?
- 40% ballot fail rate in the sample selected for review
- Injection of ballots into the process by 3rd party vendor
- Failure to follow statutory and Election manual processes
- Rampant chain of custody failures
- Ballot printer/scanner/Maintenance supply failures
- Inadequate training for sending voters to 2nd location
Time will tell Katie, but please, scream your case from the ramparts!

Imagine all that in just the 99% black voter precincts in any state in America? There’d be protests and riots nationally.

You have to prove the count is not correct.
You can’t say there were problems with the process and expect that to be sufficient to overturn an election. Maybe the election was correct. The pre election polls mostly suggested the vote result was correct.
All of these issues about incorrect ballot size did not change the count. Those ballots of incorrect size, from GOP areas, WERE COUNTED. Did you want them not counted? Then she would have lost worse.
Does a chain of custody problem result in vote totals that reverse the result? No, that was never proven. It was not even claimed. It was nothing more than an assertion of problems suggesting inefficient process BUT NOT INCORRECT COUNT.
Failure to follow a manual and procedure? That was in a GOP area. Did you want those votes tossed? Then she would lose worse.
You have to prove the vote total was wrong by a sufficient result to reverse the outcome. You can’t gather some witnesses to note problems. You have to prove those problems will reverse the result.
I have seen NOTHING from her saying the exact number of these problems is of a magnitude to precisely reverse the result.
How could the judge rule any other way? The plaintiff didn’t try to win election reversal. All she did was complain about failures. The judge said okay, I’ll grant a hearing for you to present your evidence the specific number of these issue reverse the result. She didn’t present anything like that. Just a description of problems.
What else could the judge say within the law?

If such a suit is filed, what would be the implications as regards discovery issues that could be raised by the Lake team?

Start a recall petition on Katie Hobbs NOW. I think Republican/Conservatives/Constitutionalists electorate generally have a higher IQ than democrats, why can't we play their game better than they do? All legal means. Early voting, ballot harvesting, laundered government grants, sponsored immigration for freedom seeking people. If we don't play it to win it, then submit to tyranny.

Kari Lake dared to bring a lawsuit against Arizona officials for manipulating the outcome of the 2022 gubernatorial election. Last Saturday, despite affirming the numerous issues in the election, a Maricopa judge ruled Ms. Lake failed to prove malicious intent for the failed electronic voting systems and broken chain of custody issues.

Without an admission of intent, and without evidence to prove to a demonstrable certainty the errors, mistakes and broken election procedures were intended to influence the election outcome, Judge Peter Thompson ruled against the challenge and asked the defense team to provide him with a list of sanctions against the Lake campaign.
Today, the team of Katie Hobbs asked the court for $25,050 in fines against Kari Lake and other penalties and fines the court may deem necessary to punish the plaintiff for challenging a duly certified election result. [Today Court Filing Here]
(Via NBC) – […] Hobbs and the county asked for sanctions against Lake and her legal team after an Arizona judge denied Lake’s bid to reverse the results of the November election in a two-day trial. Lake, a prominent election denier and Trump ally, was allowed to go to trial last week with two of her 10 claims, which alleged misconduct with ballot printers and problems with ballot chain of custody.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson denied Lake’s challenge after the trial in a 10-page ruling Saturday. He said the court did not find clear and convincing evidence of misconduct that would have changed the election results. Thompson also noted that the defendants had stated their intention to seek sanctions against Lake and ordered them to file a motion for sanctions by Monday morning.
Attorneys for Hobbs, who has been Arizona’s secretary of state for four years, joined the county in its filing Monday seeking $25,050 from Lake, which includes attorney fees for Hobbs and the state’s most populous county. The county took aim at Lake’s remarks before the election indicating she would not accept the results unless she won, as well as her “groundless” and “frivolous” lawsuit after the election was certified. I’m a little surprised Mrs. Hobbs did not request 1,000 hrs of indentured servitude against Mrs. Lake, whereby the plaintiff would be forced to cook, clean and do other domestic chores for the wounded Mrs. Hobbs. Then again, I probably shouldn’t give them any ideas.

Lake should have made Hobbs take the stand. This is what happens when you wimp out with a Democrat.

“What else could the judge say within the law?”
You would need to evaluate the deficiencies in the process versus the law and probe further. Judge Thompson took the easy out.
Confidence in our elections is critically important. Solid and transparent processes are not too much to expect or demand.
The law should also demand this.
I’m a precinct election official in my state, the process is well defined, as are the precinct-level roles and responsibilities.
Not so much in AZ apparently. Their failures impact me, and you, directly!
