(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Administrators at the Thomas Jefferson School for Science and Technology—an elite high school in Virginia—systematically discriminated against Asian students for years in order to give more recognition to lower-performing minority groups, the New York Post reported.
Specifically, administrators at the prestigious magnet school hid details about the National Merit scholarships—a major boon for those applying to elite universities that uses students’ average scores on the PSAT to determine eligibility.
“Keeping these certificates from students is theft by the state,” said Shawna Yashar, a lawyer and parent of a student at the school.
Instead of honoring the students for their high achievements, administrators systematically avoided announcing the awards, which in turn harmed their college applications.
According to Yashar, school Principal Ann Bonitatibus and Director of Student Services Brandon Kosatka withheld information from families and the larger public for five years now–the length of Bonitatibus’s tenure as principal.
Over 1,200 students were affected by the decision, and millions of dollars in scholarships were likely lost.
According to the report, other awards were lost out on as well.
“On September 16 of this year, National Merit sent a letter to Bonitatibus listing 240 students recognized as Commended Students or Semi-Finalists,” Yashar noted. “The letter included these words in bold type: ‘Please present the letters of commendation as soon as possible since it is the students’ only notification.'”
The Thomas Jefferson of school is, of course, simply following the directives of the Fairfax County school district’s project to guarantee “equal outcomes for every student, without exception.”
Part of the district’s policy is to never hand out “0” grades for students who failed to do anything.
Sue them out of existence.
This was truly evil.
Unless that principal goes, that school has given up it’s top level status. Some parents may have suspected this, but now they know. How was this disclosed just now?

That hits home, when I was in Middle School for a year and then I went into high school but half of the middle school went to Jefferson and the other half went to Stuart.
Thomas Jefferson was a regular high school at the time and it was a brick early 50s building, it was rather small like the old Fairfax High School. Across columbia pike was Barcroft, an upscale designer development around a lake.
The demographics back in the late 60s and early 70s was totally different.

In high school my daughter was in an advanced math class starting in 8th grade, offered by a local university, for gifted high school students in our area.
It had a similar dispute. >50% of kids were East Asian or Indian. Nearly all the remainder were white. Two black kids completed the course (and went on to Ivy League schools) - their parents were doctors from Nigeria.
There was an attempt to give slots to “under-served” kids from inner-city public schools. Not one lasted beyond the second semester
These kids start with many disadvantages - and unionized public schools only make it WORSE.
She is a CRT style zealot, willing to ‘crash the plane’ out of guilt for her ‘white privileges. She is part of that cult.
The principal and her assistant need weeding out.
That would be very cool to sue public schools out of existance.
I would say that the Asians are due some reparations! HAH!

This B$ has gone on in California for decades.
Second and Third generation Japanese Americans had doors slammed on them.
We know of a young woman who had one B and the rest A’s in Junior High and straight A’s in a great private school.
Her sin was being an evil white kid, and she was turned down at every Ca. nursing school she applied to.
She was told to apply at some good out of state schools, and she was accepted at everyone. A great eastern university offered her a great yearly scholarship for 4 years.
At that college, she made all A’s and was graduated with all honors in 4 years. She passed the national RN test and went to work in a great hospital.
I graduated HS as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. Didn’t make one difference to my college education and actual scholarship money because I had a useless counselor in HS who never told me about my options. Back then, counselors were only the people you saw when you were in trouble.
