A California bail reform group backed by A-list celebrities has shut down after being sued for releasing a serial criminal who less than a week later tried to murder a waiter in Las Vegas.
The Bail Project — whose supporters include Danny Glover, John Legend and Richard Branson — announced it discontinued its operations due to restructuring in early December, 8 NewsNow reported.
Its closure comes after it posted a $3,000 bond for burglary suspect Rashawn Gaston-Anderson in December 2021.
Six days later, Gaston-Anderson shot Chengyan Wang 11 times in Chinatown, 8 NewsNow reported.
In a plea deal, the 24-year-old was convicted of attempted robbery and mayhem, both with deadly weapon enhancements, according to News 3 Las Vegas.
Gaston-Anderson was sentenced in December to seven to 18 years behind bars for the shooting.

If Kamala Harris were capable of rational calculation, she would have foreseen that many of the people she was going bail for would sooner or later, likely sooner, commit violent crimes. She is not capable, but the full calculus concludes that it does not matter because the media will never hold her to account. Even Tucker Carlson is too busy with UFO’s and Grassy Knolls.

Bail is predicated on the person having property and/or connections and a vested interest in the community. The assumption is the person has ties to the community and won’t jeopardize their bail under the threat of loss. Providing consequence free $$ is just going to lead to additional crime. Our founding fathers tying voting and other things to property rights were pretty smart. Communism assumes no property rights.

I do know that it was reported that Danny Glover, although a talented actor who has amassed a fortune in his career, is just a big crybaby. He talks about racism and makes me sick.
