At a certain point, all decisions and election chances in politics come down to basic math. No matter how some consultants, pollsters or campaign managers may attempt to complicate the process to justify their fees or salaries paid by a candidate or company, it still comes down to this: Does the math finish on the “plus side” for him or her to run, and does it finish on the plus side for the candidate to win?
My mother used to say, “If you can read, you can cook.” In the arena of political elections, if you can do basic addition and subtraction, you can honestly advise a candidate whether to run. Former President Donald Trump has some of that basic math working against him — but also, for him.
What he and his mercurial ego really will do becomes the political question of the 2024 presidential cycle.
With each passing week, there are reports of more and more Republicans suffering from “Trump fatigue.” Although many still strongly approve of most of Trump’s policies from his four years in the White House, they have grown increasingly tired of his perceived juvenile antics and insults. Worse for Trump, many now blame him for the GOP losing the chance to take control of the Senate — not only in the November midterms, when he forced marginal candidates on the party with his endorsements, but also back in 2021 when he suppressed GOP voter turnout with negative comments and attacks in Georgia’s runoff election.

You're living in dream world.
If Trump cannot win the Republican Party nomination then no quality candidate can. That includes DeSantis.
And all of that is with the Uniparty corrupting our elections in mind.
And that, right there, is exactly why I don't consider myself MAGA, and hope it goes the way of the dodo.
The proper mindset is that we voters were robbed. But you guys never phrase it that way because everything always ends up revolving around Trump in the end. It's not about the voters, it's not about the American people. It's just about Trump. And I can't tell you how sick I am of that.
"Secretly adores"?
You set up a hyperbolic straw man fallacy and then knock it down.
That is true and logical, but there is nowhere to run to.
We need to run towards the coming battle. It will be bloody, winning will be uncertain but it is coming and crushing us slowly now.
Soon the very hope of victory and reinstitution of the republican form of democracy will be erased forever.
What do we have to lose? I say our very souls.
Ukraine is the main reason it was stolen from him
I’ve got news for them Trump is third party.
A third party would guarantee a Rat win. It’s how we got Wilson, who was probably the worst, most destructive president of the 20th century and Bill Clinton.
You must have hated that Trump took his salary from We the People and gave it away...
I was robbed too, chin..
But I’m not running.
I didn’t get impeached on hoaxes.
I didn’t get raided by your FBI..
He did.
Sorry a former Democrat, turned Republican, turned MAGA, exposed your two party swamp party..
Buchanan was a Golden boy for the Republicans, then he ran against Bush. Suddenly he was an antisemite.
If Trump wins the GOP nomination in 24, they will run someone against him and he will be a Golden boy, though he may be an anti American.
If it’s not Trump, it really doesn’t matter who it is.
The better choice is to replace RINOs with conservatives who aren’t afraid of Rats calling them names.
Since the GOP/RNC is joined at the hip with the Communist/Democrat Party, we are in dire need of a “new” Second Party. One that will dedicate itself to serving the United States Constitution and the US Citizens.
We do have some hard decisions to make and I am more than ready to jettison the Assistant Democrats.
Note that this is from The Hill, and they know FULL WELL that if Trump runs 3rd Party, he’ll do just what Ross Perot did (and wanted to do), which was to assure a Democrat victory.
Fortunately, unlike many of his supporters, Trump is SMART ENOUGH to understand that.
Brevity, and true.
Oh, the 3 Stooges have pocketed plenty of returns at our expense.
And I can’t tell you how sick I am of that.

Don’t let it get you down. All things come to an end
at some point in the future. Self worship can only go
so far.
I actually wonder if a 3rd party run would be the best tool to expose vote fraud.
If a 3rd party was formed and people actually switched their registration to the new party, there should be a baseline we could use to compare to a general election vote.
For instance, if 70 million people switched party, but Trump only received 50 million votes... something is very wrong.
It should be glowingly obvious that people motivated enough to change their party would also vote for Trump. The numbers should match within a margin of error.
More than 80% of Americans live in what are defined as urban areas, which includes suburbs. Less than 18% are rural, which is where Trump's support clearly is strongest.
“dies” = “does”
I’m at the point of thinking we are worse off by electing the likes of Murkowski, Collins, Romney, etc. than Democrats.
Trust me. I won’t be voting for any of those types. I prefer DeSantis at this point but I would certainly vote for Trump again if he’s the nominee.
I don’t believe in cutting my nose off to spite my face. That’s what we’re doing if it’s Trump or nothing.
