In Testimony, Hannity and Other Fox Employees Said They Doubted Trump’s Fraud Claims
NY Times ^

Posted on 12/21/2022 6:05:39 PM PST by GulliverSwift

On Nov. 30, 2020, Sean Hannity hosted Sidney Powell on his prime-time Fox News program. As she had in many other interviews around that time — on Fox and elsewhere in right-wing media — Ms. Powell, a former federal prosecutor, spun wild conspiracy theories about what she said was “corruption all across the country, in countless districts,” in a plot to steal re-election from the president, Donald J. Trump.

At the center of this imagined plot were machines from Dominion Voting Systems, which Ms. Powell claimed ran an algorithm that switched votes for Mr. Trump to votes for Joseph R. Biden Jr. Dominion machines, she insisted, were being used “to trash large batches of votes.”

Mr. Hannity interrupted her with a gentle question that had been circulating among election deniers, despite a lack of supporting proof: Why were Democrats silencing whistle-blowers who could prove this fraud?

Did Mr. Hannity believe any of this?

“I did not believe it for one second.”

That was the answer Mr. Hannity gave, under oath, in a deposition in Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News, according to information disclosed in a court hearing on Wednesday. The hearing was called to address several issues that need to be resolved before the case heads for a jury trial, which the judge has scheduled to begin in April....

And in some cases, other high-profile hosts and senior executives echoed Mr. Hannity’s doubts about what Mr. Trump and his allies like Ms. Powell were saying, according to the Dominion lawyer, Stephen Shackelford.

This included Meade Cooper, who oversees prime-time programming for Fox News, and the prime-time star Tucker Carlson, Mr. Shackelford said.

My son told me I had no gray areas.. Just black and white.
Gray says you can go either yea or nay.. You are not hard core.. You can bend.
Black and white says you know where you stand.. Yes or no.. Simple.

Lots of people are Ying one day and yang the next. That’s Hannity. Depends on who he is with.

Major Garrett, lib news.. Used to be on the first America’s Voice when Bill Clinton was on trial. Major was.. Sounded like.. He leaned conservative. Since then, he fits CNN and lib news.

Ya might not know who is or isn’t when gray.. It depends.. Every day.

How are they going to dismiss the news released today about the massive fraud by Hobbs in Arizona? Just ignore it again?

All those stupid morons in the Trump camp who were ranting about the Dominion voting machines completely undermined the real case to be made about illegal votes, ballot stuffing, etc.

Exactly - a complete lack of focus on the real problems.

There were certainly some hinky things that should be explained, but you are correct that the main paths were about making the election unmanageable with a thorough loss of control, and once input, indisputable (as well as unverifiable) - combined with the technological interference with information flow, and the not mere bias of the media but their participation in the election as a party to it themselves.

That Sidney Powell was not providing any proof of anything was clear within a few days, and she was called on it and given the opportunity to make her case. She declined.

The January 6th kangaroo court had tapes of Hannity saying the election was stolen. He apparently is too scared to say the same thing under oath.

Excellent point … but what you’re seeing there has nothing to do with Dominion voting machines.

If the Trump team had focused on THAT sh!t instead of parading around some jackasses like Sidney Powell and Mike Lindell who were claiming that they’d pull Krackens out of their asses to prove that the machines were the real problem, they might have stood a chance of making a real case.

Why is anyone still watching FAUX News?

Election night 2020 was the last night I watched FOX. I have never gone near it again. They are not much different than CNN now.

You have it all wrong. FOX’s defense in this case was that they never made these idiotic claims about Dominion voting machines themselves, and that under the First Amendment they are not liable for any libelous/defamatory statements made on the air by their guests.

Ridiculous. Here’s just one report by Hannity himself that rips directly on Dominion, that goes on for well over 5 full minutes, which I remember him regularly doing.

To now say he didn’t believe any of it, for even one sec, makes the Dominion case a slam dunk.

If the Trump team had focused on THAT … they might have stood a chance of making a real case.

I’m not going to disagree that Trump’s legal team did not serve him well, starting with putting Giuliani in charge which was a huge mistake. He had just proven he was over his head with just trying to roll out the Hunter Biden laptop, which he completely flubbed up by releasing just one email a day instead of the while thing. To then put him in charge of the actual legal team was a collosal mistake. Trump finally realized it and tried to switch gears to Powell but it just proved to be more mismanagement and poor decision making.

That does not, however, mean that questions about Dominion were ever off base. And overall Dominion was never Trump’s sole line of defense. But there are STILL questions about them, and it has been PROVEN that votes can be easily manipulated in those machines.

What FOX is trying to do now, though, is put Dominion up on a shelf, and try to make it above reproach, which is ridiculous.

Aside from the overturning Roe v Wade, he continues to expose the neocon and Uniparty scum infesting this country.
My life isn't guided by abortion pro or con. Roe V Wade was not overturned. Abortions are readily available. In fact the matter has only gotten worse since (as you say) it was "overturned".

Hannity and the foreigners at Murdoch News are frauds. In case you haven't noticed, since they have been on the air the only thing that's changed is it's all gotten worse.

“What a stupid question and why would you even ask it?”

Is America still great? Were Trump’s accomplishments built on a solid foundation or on sand?

“Aside from the overturning Roe v Wade, he continues to expose the neocon and Uniparty scum infesting this country.”

Kavanaugh and Barrett have connections with the Bush’s and are more in line with McConnell. Roberts and Alito were nominated by Bush 43 and Thomas was nominated by George H. W. Bush.

As for exposing neocon and Uniparty scum, Trump has an extensive record of placing such in key positions. People like Gen. Milley, Wray, Pence, Sessions, Barr, Bolton , Allen, Mattis, Tillerson, McDaniels and others.

As for Armscor38: note the 2017-07-12 FR inception date.

Very familiar with the ways and forms of FR - but conveniently without a FR history from the 2015-2016 FR primary wars...
