Williams was convicted of six murders, including one triple murder in 1989, but freed after almost 30 years in prison when his final murder charge was tossed because evidence of prosecutorial misconduct came to light.

Williams was part of a funeral procession for formerly incarcerated friend Tyree Little in Philadelphia, his friends told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

As he stepped out of his car on the 3000 block of Lehigh Avenue at around 2.20pm, he was shot once in the head.

I Did feel sorry for him for about a quarter of a second, which is the average reaction time between seeing a danger and hitting the brakes while you’re driving.....

The article was useless, but Fox gave details

Family friends from the city's Germantown section, Williams and Wilson (ED note: who was also convicted wrongly) were accused of being in a gang and working to kill three drug dealers from New York. In court filings, the District Attorney’s Officer later admitted the case against the two men was "built on a house of cards." Prosecutors acknowledged false jailhouse informant testimony, extensive undisclosed evidence, and forensic evidence that directly contradicted the informant’s story. "The basic structure underpinning the conviction was built on the unscrupulous behavior of several bad actors," the court filings said.

Originally sentenced to death for the murders of the three drug dealers, Williams was also previously convicted of murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in the killing of Michael Haynesworth. The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU) later revisited the Haynesworth murder case and discovered testimony against Williams was inconsistent with the available physical evidence, according to WCAU. Williams was exonerated a second time and released after serving 29 years behind bars.

So, an innocent man was jailed for decades due to prosecutorial misconduct bordering on criminal intent, and lots (except for you) are cheering?

Wow...SMH at some folks' rush to judgement based on looks on this thread.

If he really was innocent I'd change my story. However, the chances of that are practically nil.

Well, that was convenient. I mean, to be shot at a funeral is pretty good timing.

What is the origin of “rich Corinthian leather...”?

The marketing firm.

Congratulations. You just endorsed the leftist evisceration of the rule of law.

And by proxy, you're with the left in saying Rittenhouse isn't innocent, comrade.

Actually you're 180 out. I'm against the death penalty precisely because there's too much chance of executing an innocent person. There's a big difference between the actions of an all powerful state taken under color of law and some gang banger revenge shooting.

I'd lock up lawyers that knowingly prosecute innocent people for the same amount of time the accused was liable for. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over some thug getting murdered by another thug over an old grievance though, comrade.

Corinthian leather is a term coined by the advertising agency Bozell in 1974[1] to describe the leather upholstery used in certain Chrysler luxury vehicles. Although merely a marketing concept, it suggested a premium product, “something rich in quality, rare, and luxurious”.[2] In reality, it was the same leather used in most Chryslers, produced by the Radel Leather Manufacturing Company in Newark, New Jersey.[2][3]

Ok...let me get this straight.

We agree that there was a miscarriage of justice and this guy was rightly set free.

All indications are that he did NOT commit the murders.

He was shot in the head in broad daylight.

And you've convicted him of being a thug who was killed by another thug, based on the "evidence" that he was attending a funeral of a previously incarcerated friend?

You both seem to be missing an important point: the dead guy was not exonerated of all six murders he committed: only the last murder charge was thrown out. He wasn’t a stand-up guy who was wrongfully convicted in every case.

Wait. I could be wrong on that too. Other articles with more detail suggest he was exonerated and/or acquitted of all 6 murders. See, Eg. https://news.yahoo.com/philadelphia-man-death-row-25-204555258.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9kdWNrZHVja2dvLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAEHn7V0h2qXmq92ZM2c4Vyokxlbra5uEdGmZJCScviqz1aPWMmJW_e2D3yf_R7Tb2Z4GiYqznhHHXuOryAhPyFNeDVoD6Sob4LwCmY6xYsYB8FrpCwDDmzgeYoEre3DtmiUfbIBqdHZ3hL4aN-6nnSyIkvm3tklWZjDOS6Q5x4Jw
