Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is preparing to visit Washington on Wednesday, according to three AP sources, in his first known trip outside the country since Russia’s invasion began in February.
Two congressional sources and one person familiar with the matter confirmed plans for the visit. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the highly sensitive nature of the trip.

What do folk think about the idea of West Alaska? 50 miles from our shore is a huge territory with almost no people and vast natural resources.
Should we work to gain that as compensation from Russia for what we have spent in Ukraine?

I thought that originally, but I think we are past this stage. Russia now so committed that it either wins or ceases to exist. Even if Putin goes there is no easy way out of the war.
Russia has never lost a major war. It is the last of the European empires for that reason.
If Russia loses, and that is still an if, I expect it will look like Austro-Hungary or the Ottomans in 1918.

My suspicion is that anything you’ve “spent in Ukraine” involves OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY. We American taxpayers and our descendants will be paying interest on those spendings for generations.
Ukraine has lost 100K already— have learned this from a EU statement that was NEWS to the whole world. Ukraine is losing— and will lose even more. Winter is on, the ground is hard and ripe for offensive moves. The history of Russia is filled with winter victories aided by the weather.
Zelenskyy is coming to try to GUILT the hurry up billions he thinks he’s going to get. Pelosi is trying to push the guilt trip for a country that is NOT in US interests whatsoever- but IS in the interests of US mil-industrialists, RINO kickback artists from the same, and the usual screaming about Democracy and borders.. Demonrats— but NOT about US Borders which they have laid wide open. Zelenskyy is a whore—and shall we say from the “entertainment” sector of installed JoeBama gobetweens for the Ukrainian black hole of “deposits” we will NEVER be able to pay— borrowed money given to people who do not account for all they have gotten and begged for. What a racket. Call your Senators— the answer is NO— NO more!!
