The first openly transgender woman set to be executed is pleading with Missouri Gov. Mike Parson for mercy because “she” claims to be “mentally ill.”
Amber McLaughlin, now 49, was convicted of raping and murdering an ex-girlfriend in St. Louis County in 2003. At that time, “Amber” was Scott McLaughlin. The inmate “transitioned” in prison.
McLaughlin says it’s a “sad thing” to be executed because of mental illness.
“I don’t agree with it,” the inmate said. “People should know I’m mentally ill.”
The anti-death penalty advocates want “her” life spared because McLaughlin is so brave.

Mentally ill doesn’t cut it. The USSC has ruled that you can’t kill “retards” , because, well, they’re retards.
It must have done something like jaywalking. You get executed for victimless crimes, right? No way it could possibly be for murder.
This excuse is right up there with the person who kills his parents and wants mercy because he’s an orphan.
I’m sure if it could talk, a cancer cell would also plead for its life before the doctors administer chemo to the patient.
Why is mental illness a defense? He committed the crime and was found guilty and sentenced to death

In the interview, Kosilek stated that she “probably, because of the trauma of it ... went into a blackout at that moment.” She added, “Apparently, I did take her life. It was probably in self-defense.” McCaul was 36 years old when she died.”
If Scott McLaughlin can identify as a woman, he can identify as alive after the executioner carries out the sentence.
The guy has a point.
He can’t be too brave if he’s too yellow to accept his punishment. Amber needs to cowboy up and die like a man.
I would hazard a guess that ANYBODY that murders someone is mentally ill........you’d have to be... wouldn’t you?
