Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused the CIA of murdering his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, in a tweet on December 16, 2022. He called the JFK assassination a “successful coup d’etat.”

“The most courageous newscast in 60 years. The CIA’s murder of my uncle was a successful coup d’état from which are democracy has never recovered,” RFK Jr. wrote, sharing a broadcast by Fox News’ host Tucker Carlson

>I would not have believed that a US government agency was capable of assassinating an American

Go find the book “The Praetorian Guard” by John Stockwell. It’s out of print but the torrents are available. There’s a chapter devoted to the assassination. It’s a short read, ~200 pages, loaded with info and references.

Ha! It’s on archive.org

A book that discusses the LBJ angle is “The Texas Connection: The assassination of John F. Kennedy” by Craig I. Zirbel. Interesting take on the whole mess.

LBJ was a real SOB, not the glorified savior of Civil Rights as the liberal take on history claims.

From Wikipedia
Origins
“Although not formally founded until 1962, the modern-day U.S. Navy SEALs trace their roots to World War II.[7] The United States Military recognized the need for the covert reconnaissance of landing beaches and coastal defenses. As a result, the joint Army, Marine Corps, and Navy Amphibious Scout and Raider School was established in 1942 at Fort Pierce, Florida.[10] The Scouts and Raiders were formed in September of that year, just nine months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, from the Observer Group, a joint U.S. Army-Marine-Navy unit.”

My co-worker joined the Navy when he was 18 and stayed four years, then went to college. When I knew him, he was the CEO of one of the largest paging companies in the world. He was fairly credible.

Since his service spanned the actual formation of the SEALS, I would suspect he was grandfathered in. After the Bay of Pigs, he focused on mixed gas diving.

I wish he was here to answer questions. I am not military nor do I follow the JFK plotline. I just thought I would pass on his story.

If I can find the book with the full flechette story in it, I will post it.

That one is a conspiracy theory from top to bottom. Back in the 1970s, one of the wacky misfits put out a huge-assed hardcover book, "Coup d'etat In America -- C.I.A."
This revival of Kennedy assassination interest, and the UFO/ET sleight of hand going on are both all about undermining interest in the real stuff that's going on, which has been tarred as conspiracy theory by the Partisan Media Shills spewing the DNC talking points.
This will be it for me today, I believe, have a good weekend, all!

It’s not open, or up for altering the Constitution like a Constitutional Convention would be..

Get educated on the process..

A Convention of States votes on a set agenda.. its not a free for all

What is a COS, please?

'Convention of States', which is described in Article V of the Constitution.

There were conspiracy theories before there was government. There are some who are constantly looking for some invisible hand manipulating events from behind the scenes. Conspiracy theories do not require a government to exist.

Conspiracies existed before government. So did lies. So did coverups. Going back to Cain and Abel.

Sticking to the story at hand, the question is why is the CIA preventing the disclosure of information in an assassination of an American President which occurred 60 years ago. What possible motivation is there to hide information? And by hiding information, the government continues to undermine what fraction of a percentage of credibility they have with the American people.

Were you alive then? If you were you would know that most did not believe the government lies. The CIA has always been suspected.

I was alive then. Were you?

Early on, many believed JFK was a victim of conservatives unhappy with his civil rights policy or his policy of appeasement toward Communist countries. This notion was promoted in the media and in books such as Dallas, Public and Private by Warren Leslie (New York: Avon, 1964). This viewpoint is still promoted in books like Dallas 1963 by Bill Minutaglio and Steven Davis (New York: Twelve, 2013). I haven't yet read Nut Country: Right Wing Dallas & the Birth of the Southern Strategy by Edward Miller (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2015) but I assume it promotes the same viewpoint.

Many in the conservative media thought that the Soviets or Cubans were behind the assassination because Oswald was a Communist and Jack Ruby had apparently also been one when he was younger. In an article in the John Birch Society publication American Opinion, Revilo Oliver suggested that JFK was killed because he was about to "turn American" and purge the Deep Staters from his administration, withdraw from the United Nations and take a hard line against Communism. A more sober viewpoint is expressed in Carlos Bringuier's Red Friday: November 22, 1963 (Chicago: Hallberg, 1969) which emphasizes Oswald's Cuban connections.

I don't recall hearing conspiracy theories involving the CIA until around the end of the sixties.

RFK Jr.’s sole qualification to make this pronouncement is his name. BFD. You inherited a name. Doesn’t make you the Pope.

This was the first book I read on the subject in the “old days”:

https://www.amazon.com/Rush-Judgement-mark-lane/dp/B0000CN5UV

There were many leads to the CIA presented there (1966)—though I don’t think Lane connected all the dots.

The Israel nuclear nonproliferation issue was not disclosed until Seymour Hersh exposed it in 1991:

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-Option-Israels-Nuclear-American/dp/0394570065

This was a major breakthrough imho since it showed how the CIA/Mossad allies and JFK had opposing views on this topic—which was a critical matter for Israeli security (and US long term security in the Middle East).

While early researchers focused on Cuba, then some later focused on Vietnam, imho the Israeli connection gave the CIA a critical third motive for doing away with JFK.

There’s a much shorter book that explains things well...”Camelot and the Cultural Revolution”.

Camelot & the Cultural Revolution: How the Assassination of John F. Kennedy Shattered American Liberalism by James Piereson (New York: Encounter, 2007)

Excellent book.

If there was, indeed, a conspiracy, Manuel Piñeiro Losada, Cuba’s spy chief, might have at least known something about it.

Fiji — I came to the conclusion years ago that the CIA was involved, not in the murder, but in the cover-up and then framing of Oswald. There were numerous connections between Oswald and various FBI/CIA agents and or operatives (Clay Shaw is one). The CIA actions after the killing was a CYA, because they knew that they looked guilty, not because they actually were guilty.
