Why Did Black Georgians Vote for Raphael Warnock?
The Daily Signal ^ | December 14, 2022 | Star Parker

There are plenty of postmortems about Raphael Warnock’s defeat of Republican candidate Herschel Walker in the runoff for the Senate seat in Georgia.

Yes, in the same state, Republican Brian Kemp won a decisive victory in the race for governor. And, yes, to be kind, Walker was not a great flag-bearer to draw voters, particularly black voters, to the Republican Party.

But let’s ask why voters, particularly black voters, would send Warnock to represent them for another six years in the U.S. Senate.

The Georgia electorate is around 30% black, and 90% of them voted for Warnock.

What are these black voters thinking about?

Warnock is a boilerplate Democrat of the Left, with an agenda of government spending as the answer to every problem, who is also the address to turn to keep the door open to abortion and the LGBTQ agenda.

Atlanta, which is about 50% black, has a poverty rate of 18.5% compared with a national average of 11.6%, and among black adults in Atlanta, 75% are not married, compared with 50% of all adults nationwide.

Is Warnock’s agenda, pretty much the agenda of his party, really what these folks need?

Let’s turn to economist John Cochrane of Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. In an essay about the importance of economic growth, he notes that the U.S. economy averaged 3.5% growth annually from 1947 to 2000. Since then, the average has hovered around 2%.

What if the average growth from 1947 to 2000 was 2% instead of 3.5%, asks Cochrane. He answers that average income in 2000 would have been $23,000 instead of $50,000.

Taking 1.5% off the annual growth rate lops off roughly half the average earning potential of working Americans.

[Why Did Black Georgians Vote for Raphael Warnock?]

An excellent question since this “preacher man” loves abortion and gay marriage. That’s why he’s a Democrat.

Who cares?
White people that think blacks are going to come to our side are fools.
Pandering to blacks will cost you far more white votes than black ones gained.

When most of them were told the choice was between a man of God and a race traitor who would have been perfectly happy to bring back slavery for Georgian blacks, it became easy for them to vote against their own interests.

Many of them don’t even remember Herschel Walker. If he was Odell Beckham, Jr. he might have gotten somewhere. :)

Or:

Georgia Libertarians:

US Senate US Senate GA Governor
  2022 2020 2022
Chase Oliver Shane Hazel Shane Hazel
    81,353 115,039 28,162

Amazing how former Marine Shane Hazel was able to force David Perdue into a run-off in 2020 - but he couldn't get anyone to vote for him a scant two years later.

MEANWHILE, the LGBTQ poofter Libertarian Chase Oliver suddenly gained a huge following - forcing Herschel Walker into a run-off in 2022...

Methinks that a bunch of Perdue and Walker votes got "adjudicated" into Libertarian "votes".

Heck, Kemp probably peeled a bunch off Shane Hazel in the governor's race.

Nice to have the inside track on the machines, like former SOS Kemp and current SOS Rattenspewer both do.

"Why Did Black Georgians Vote for Raphael Warnock?"

.... Like it or not .... It's Probably because Republicans really suck at messaging and getting their information out to the masses ...... It might be well to realize that ... You don't reach the general public by only making your rounds on the conservative talk show circuit ....

Yes, in the same state, Republican Brian Kemp won a decisive victory in the race for governor.

Because kemp is doing the work of any Democrat.

Companies based out of California are pouring into this state while kemp showers them with tax breaks.

And now, the SOS wants to completely upend the election laws. Ranked Choice Voting and, wait for it, the winner doesn’t have to get the majority anymore. Only 45%.

Who needs Democrats when you have Republicans doing this kind of work?

Are you saying that most black voters are either stupid or gullible?

Kemp won his election easily.

If you look at the statewide elections in Georgia, Republican statewide candidates were generally pulling in 2,050,000 votes or theresabouts.

Democrat candidates were generally pulling in 1,775,000 votes.

In round numbers, Warnock overperformed by 150k votes and Walker underperformed by 150K votes.

Maybe blacks were swayed by Warnock’s smooth talking preacher persona, maybe the abortion smears worked. Maybe the ballot harvesting machine worked for Warnock in a way that it didn’t work for Stacy Abrams... the patron saint of ballot harvesting in Georgia.

But maybe, and just hear me out here for a moment, maybe there’s still a chunk of “good ole boys” across the state who would rather see a black republican lose to a black democrat than have to say they helped elect a black republican who would then represent them. Maybe they aren’t a sizeable enough group to influence a primary, but they could collectively be big enough to sway a tight election.
