I identify as a black people.
For the record, at most 5% of white Americans today are descendants of slave owners. Even if you blame me for the sins of my fathers — my white ancestors had nothing to do with it anyway. In fact, they hated slavery because it allowed the plantation owners to get crop to market cheaper and price my ancestors out of market.
Only if a one way trip to Liberia and surrender of US citizenship is included.
No visiting the US, and on the no fly list.
Flying was invented by white people, and is racist.
It’ll never be enough. They’ll be back in a year asking for more. Wash, rinse, repeat. Hey, free money is free money, right?
How about free transportation back to their ancestral home?
I identify as black. Where’s my money?
Pro tip: Invest in Cadillac dealerships in California.
I am close to a poor area and it amazes me at the expensive cars, cell phones, grocery carts, etc., etc I see when I go out. They’re doing much better than I am and where exactly is the money coming from? Buy a car.and refuse to make a single payment because it is racist is what I hear is happening and finance companies are eating the loses—or passing them to those that do pay. Reparations has been going on for years.
Yep, many decades.
Democrats have created racist, entitled monsters and they own this issue.
What is the statistic, one in three lottery winners is bankrupt in five years? My guess, whatever we pay will not be enough and it will all disappear into a FTX-esque black hole of luxury goods and extravagance in less time than it takes to print the checks.
Okay here we go. The issue of reparations for slavery is now becoming a hot issue.
It’s very predictable that plans will be drawn up as to how much should be paid to black folks. But then some will say that whatever dollar amount is suggested is simply inadequate to right the wrongs of History.
And this will pave the way for reparations for every conceivable grievance group who has any historic grievance.
Will we see reparations for homosexuals? There was a time when gay school teachers were fired, and gay government workers were dismissed. Will such actions be used to try to get reparations for homosexual people?
Members of other minority groups were discriminated against in history , not just black folks. Will they get reparations?
Just in general, everyone except for white Christian heterosexual males, can be said to have some historic grievance which should be remedied by reparations, to make up for past discrimination against such groups.
Why not make it an even ten mil apiece, and call it even?
Don’t give it to the black folk asking for it. Put them at the bottom of the list. The ones not asking for it get a 10% discount coupon on their next Starbucks purchase. They were never slaves and the folks they are asking to pay for it never owned slaves. The legislators voting for this bill to establish their virtue bona fides should be the only ones paying for the 10% discount coupons
with 90% tax
this can’t go on much longer, and America is going to pay dearly for the race-baiting cancer the neo-marxist left has injected into the nation.
Max Fennell, you're wrong on all counts, you lying bastard ... You don't have the guts to show up at my front door and try to commit armed robbery.
If free money is given to just blacks, I’m out of this dump.
It’s turning into Brazil anyway.
Interesting? California was not a slave state. They had slaves but they were Indian and what would now be called Mexicans. And they were under the Mexican government, not the current state or federal governments. So how could they pay out reparations. Who would they go to, and why. Its too confusing. A good example is Kamala Harris. She is mostly from slave owners both in India and Jamaica. She is descendant of the two largest slave owning families in Jamaica as well as slaves. In India it was common for the upper class to own slaves even in the 1990s, or more commonly a family of servants that lived on the same property as the wealthy family.
