A black California businessman demanded $600,000 from California taxpayers during the first meeting of the state's reparations task force on Wednesday.
Deliberations began on how to quantify how financial compensation might be calculated and what might be required to prove eligibility.
One of those who spoke at the public hearing was 35-year-old entrepreneur and the first black professional tri-athlete, Max Fennell...He concluded his remarks by saying: 'The tangibles of what I'm asking for is $350,000 per black American in California that's tangible, small business grant $250,000 and land 15-20 acres.' ...
...California senate candidate Deon Jenkins spoke at the hearing and said that any money designed to counter-act housing discrimination should be in line with the average price of a home in the state, around $800,000. ...

Yeah, okay... And then we subtract out of that amount all the free money, food stamps, welfare, and healthcare you’ve been given since emancipation... Oh, excuse me, you have a negative balance. Please pay that amount in order to bring your account to a net sum zero. Once paid, please STFU about reparations and get on with your life...
People are gonna keep pushing for free money as long as there are people stupid enough to give it to them.
The ONE DAY when it all runs out, the givers will be shocked when the takers are mad that the free stuff ran out. Why isn’t it free anymore?
Lose - lose - lose

I guess I should have included they were in Kalifornica when it happened. ;)
The people in those trades will continue to ply them in American zones, while the abandoned zones will have that work done by people who will make those areas look like Haiti.
She will even insist that community colleges and trade schools open in those areas, but then simultaneously demand that those schools lower standards so local idiots can pass and graduate.
The deserts get worse, but community organizers in the mold of Saul Alinsky and Barack Obama flourish.
Actually, American Blacks should pay Reparations to WHITES because they are so MUCH better off, than if their ancestors had been LEFT BEHIND in Africa! Think about it!
My l’il ol’ 13 acres would fetch around 32 mil in San Jose.
I wonder what my house and barn would be worth there?
Part of that has already played out, where government facilities such as schools remain in the “dead zones” - but attracting private businesses often doesn’t work (due to crime/physical security concerns). Even if business owners can be bought off with tax incentives, they often can’t attract talent to those areas (and that probably got much harder with the explosion of remote work over the past couple of years).
This has played out in NJ cities, where government colleges and a hospital are maintained in an attempt to keep some jobs in the city, while tax incentives were used to get an arena built to attract the local hockey team (NJ Devils). The idea that there would be any lingering employees pumping money into the local economy outside of the 9-5 workday never materialized, so now the city is attempting to attract working taxpayers by building a “teachers village” where gubmint workers could live within a compound there - and it still failed.
Camden NJ was given the new state aquarium decades ago, and the battleship New Jersey museum, and it did nothing to slow or reverse the blight there. As the capital, Trenton can’t even retain the state workforce; as it is on the border with Pennsylvania, many of them live there instead.
As the burden for these dangerous dumps is passed on to the taxpaying suburban normals, they simply leave - and their employers who are expected to bear the costs as well are leading the way.
