A prominent ally of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with unprecedented access to local authorities and reportedly under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct has died in what is being investigated as a suicide.
Kent Stermon, 50, of Jacksonville, was found dead in a truck parked outside the Atlantic Beach post office around 8 p.m. Thursday, the Florida Times-Union reported.
Stermon had been reported missing by his wife, Christie, after his heart monitor stopped earlier that day, the First Coast News reported.
Shortly after the discovery of his body, police announced they were investigating his death as a suicide.
Stermon was under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct at the time of his death, law enforcement sources told the Times-Union.

Laughable J-school grammar makes it sound like he died in the act, instead of being under investigation in the week(s) preceding his death.
Hope this "suicide" is thoroughly investigated.
Throwing the NeverTrumper Trolling Shade right back at ‘em.
Well played, JP...🧐
LOL!
Hah!
A NeverTrumper can’t take the same kind of medicine he dishes out...
...died in the act...
Yes—that was the (erroneous) first impression given. Where are the highly-compensated editors in journoworld?
Sounds like DeSantis is now running into the same mud-slinging that Donald Trump has endured. DeSantis doesn't get a free pass -- that's a canard -- but we here in Florida have seen what he has done for this state, and we like what we see. If he's made any mistakes about his 'friends', well, Donald Trump made those mistakes too.
There are way too many half-cocked jumps to conclusions going on right now -- like I said, a circular firing squad. Don't be a part of it. Two years is an eternity in politics; much can, and will, change in that time.
What...are they more likely to stop by the local pub and start bragging? Lol
What’s you opinion on Trump in 2024?
I voted for him in 2016 and gladly did so again in 2020. Since the election was stolen from him, the dynamics have changed, to say the least. I would vote for him again in 2024, if he wins the primary. If DeSantis is the candidate, I will also gladly vote for him. The two are not mutually exclusive, something that seems to be missing in this whole affair.
But again -- two years from now in the political world is an eternity -- impossible to predict. It's possible that neither will be the candidate. Now there's a scary thought!
We don’t have to worry about Paul Pelosi or Mini - Madeoff omitting suicide - democrats don’t have a problem with ‘guilt or conscience’.
You have no clue what you are talking about.
Every time they do a story on fraudster Sam Bankman Fried, Iwant to see the headline like this: “PROMINENT BIDEN DONOR BILKED CLUELESS CLIENTS OUT OF BILLIONS “.

BINGO!! 👏👏👏
Prayers up for his wife.
This man had an implantable heart gizmo monitored 24/7. Sounds like a serious medical condition. Such a condition is known to make some people despondent.
Heard this morning that Jack Dorsey ex-Twitter CEO said that what happened at Twitter was his fault, sort of. He said that some big investment (I forgot the name) run by Paul Singer came in and made demands (I guess of higher ups.board) and he didn’t do anything about it. Paul Singer was behind the Steele Dossier that went to McCain and is a huge donor/backer to Ron DeSantis. Singer wanted Trump de-platformed and gone.
It’s not his “friends” that bother me, it’s his donors and supporter s(see my post below) especially Paul Ryan, McCarthy & McConnell as well as people like Paul Singer and Griffin.
This does bear keeping an eye on, just like with all other politicians and contestants for political office. Try to run the best person you can, get them into office, and then keep watching them like a hawk.
You've convinced me! I'll never vote for DeSantis now! Someone shady donated to his campaign so DeSantis must be a dirtbag just like this guy!
From now on I'll only support those candidates who only accept contributions from people who have submitted to thorough background checks.
Like Trump! I'm sure there's absolutely nobody shady who ever sent him a single dime.
You're welcome, and well done! Stick with a winner.
Then that would make two of us.
🤣
